How to label drawers without damaging them?

Hi all, Does anyone have any ideas on how to label dresser drawers without damaging the drawers (if you try to remove the labels in the future)? I thought of using that "sticky tack" (aka sticky putty) stuff but I know all too well that it leaves behind non-removable grease marks. Help!

  • I considered labeling and I was glad I didn't - I have changed the arrangement of DD's drawers at least two or three times.

  • I saw some vinyl labels on Etsy. That might work.  They have pre-made ones, and chalkboard type ones too.

  • Do you have knobs on the dresser drawers? Why not make a cute little "sign" to hang on them that way they can be easily rearranged.

  • You can use wall vinyl decals that are chalk board kind and get some really good chalk to it won't get wipes off easy, I dont know the brand but there is some chalk that doesn't have any chalk residue , powder.

I was thinking this as well.  Or you could attach a piece of ribbon on the inside of the drawer  and then hang it over the front of the drawer (if that makes sense).

  • I just used my label maker and put them on the inside of the dresser drawer

  • The only drawers I might label are the fabric drawers we have for cube storage. I am going to use probably yarn or something to hang little signs on the handles...maybe

I was thinking along these lines as well. Depending if you have a handle or knobs, you could do something along this line, just make the hole smaller and size the disk to be more in proportion to the drawer. And if you decide to switch what was in that drawer, it would be easy to move the label.
