Trouble TTC

Clomid and baby aspirin

I know this question has been asked before, but because I'm seeing so many posts on here from people who are currently on a Clomid cycle, I thought I'd ask...

How many of you are taking baby aspirin while on Clomid?

My doctor didn't say anything about it (actually, I didn't talk to a doctor in my last visit, just a nurse), but I've heard it can help with uterine lining.  I took some today only (CD9) but am not sure about taking it every day.  Then again, I have very thin uterine lining along with my PCOS ovaries so of course I want to do everything I can do in order to thicken the lining this time around.

Re: Clomid and baby aspirin

  • I would call your RE's office and ask what they suggest.

  • I agree with KDG. I haven't heard that although I have heard that Pom supplements and/or juice will help. It didn't for me and they put me on Estrace for three days.

ETA: I assume you are being monitored? If so, they will measure your lining. Estrace is pretty simple to use and will help increase the lining between your monitoring and your ovulation date. Best of luck.

  • I have heard of that but I'd still call your doctor to be sure.

  • Yes, my doc put me on baby asprin for my first for my first clomid/IUI cycle and told me to "Keep taking it until I tell you to stop."  I thought it was to help with clots, don't know why (wellI guess because that's why old people take it).  Nor do I know if it helps with lining, but I'm kind of ashamed to admit that I was like "well he never said to stop and what harm can it do?" that I've continued taking it since late March with my morning pre-nats.  Hhmmmm, maybe I should stop.

  • I would ask your RE - mine told me not to bother to take it.   I know that it can do more harm that good in some cases.

  • Thanks for the info, guys.  I will call the RE tomorrow to ask... just wanted other people's opinions to try to get informed first.  :)

Lucyspeople:  I am being monitored this cycle, and in my 3 previous Femara cycles my uterine lining was always a concern (and I've heard Clomid usually thins uterine lining even more).  I will definitely ask about Estrace.  I really appreciate that you mentioned it.

  • I'm a lurker on this board.. The reason it is used in fertility is because it thins the blood a bit and creates more blood around the uterine lining, making implantation a bit easier.

Hope this helps. I read it in a couple books.. one on IF and one on pregnancy. I'd definitely talk to your RE before taking it though.

  • It took 100mg of clomid with one baby aspirin per day. RE said it was to get proper blood flow to all your baby making areas! GL!
