It is hotter than blazes here, but I am told it has been worse lately, so I guess we should count our blessings there. Wink

Nora did TERRIBLY on the flight out here. She missed her afternoon nap b/c we had to leave for the airport around that time, and was a total crankpot getting on the plane. She did fall asleep while I nursed her at takeoff and slept for almost an hour in my arms (I was too scared to wake her to try and get her in her car seat!). She was happy for about 10 minutes after waking up, and then the screaming set in. Seriously, it was 1.5 hours straight of screaming. The people around us most have looooved us. I tried nursing like eleventybillion times, and that would work for a few minutes, but then more screaming. Not interested in toys, teethers, walking up and down the aisle, standing in our laps, looking to the other babies -- nothing. We even tried covering the car seat with a blanket and just patting her, hoping she'd go to sleep, but no dice.

Then, magically, as we started descending, she got happy again -- so maybe air pressure? Who knows. Anyway, she stayed happy until we got her to the ILs' house and it was waaaay past bedtime, so to sleep she went. She woke up and fussed a couple of times, but went right back to sleep within like 2 minutes, thank goodness. She STTN, too, so hurray! She has also been a champion napper today -- I figure she must be exhausted.

Anyway, TL;DR: We got here in one piece, even though the flight was terrible, and it is hot! Stick out tongue Also, Nora is still super-cute, which is a good thing, because otherwise we may have "forgotten" her on the plane yesterday.

Glad you made it ok sorry for the terrible flight sounds like it was stressful I hope Nora does better on the way home. Good thing being cuite out ways the tantrums, she is a cuitie. Have a great vacation and try to stay cool while you are there.

oh man, i know the next time we fly O will do the exact same thing. the last time we flew we were next to a business man. he laughed and said "oh, ive been there! i have three kids and I was always THAT parent". i think more people 'get it' than we realize. besides, i cant count the times i flew next to a screaming child. its our turn d*amnit! have a wonderful vacation...and chin-up on the way home..like you said, it can only be better than last time

Welcome back to Texas! It got hot early down here - we've been having August weather all month.

Sorry the flight out was tough. If it makes you feel better, when we flew with B a few months ago, he was a dream on the way out and a terror on the way back. Since you've already had your terror flight, your flight home should be a dream.

Enjoy visiting with family and showing off cutie Nora. Are you going to switch her schedule to local time or just go with whatever she seems to want?

Have fun in Texas! I'll keep my fingers crossed that Nora will be better on the way back.
But just so you know, my coworker said that she enjoys sitting by babies on the plane. She said it's because she loves to see the mom freak out when the baby starts to cry. lol. Hopefully you'll be surrounded by those types of people!

I read this and had to laugh - it makes me think your coworker is a teeny bit of a sadist Stick out tongue
