Update to DD's surgery

We went to the hospital last Monday for DD's surgery on Tuesday (she was born with imperforate anus... in her case, a tiny fistula had formed near the vaginal opening, rather than a real anus...thankfully it worked and we were able to delay the surgery until she got bigger and stronger!). Although super nervewracking, the surgery went great... they closed the fistula and created a fully functioning anus, which is, um, definitely working!! Smile We got discharged today, and have an outpatient follow-up "surgery" on Tuesday (not really surgery but she does have to go under again). The surgeon said that if we get through Thursday with the site intact, we're in the clear.
