Nothing is certain in life, and our birth plan didn't go according to what we planned. But our beautiful baby boy came into this world and we are absolutely in love. Here's in birth story:
We went in for the induction around 1:00 but my doc wanted to be the one to start the process, so we waiting in L&D with and IV until about 3:30pm when they came in and said the doctor was going to be longer then he thought so another doc started the process. They put some balloon thingy inside of me (sorry can't think of the name) and checked my cervix at 7:30 and saw that it only made me go to 4cm, by the way the contractions were coming about 5 minutes and hurt like hell! At 8:30 they decided to give me Pitocin and I asked for an epi because I knew I wasnt going to tolerate that on top of the balloon thingy. I actually yelled at the nurse to stop asking me questions during a contraction. I apologized later. She just wouldn't shut up! After 9:00 pm they gave me the epidural I was a pleasant person; for about 4 hours.
At 12:55 am I told the nurse I was feeling alot of pressure/pain/discomfort. She looked at the doctor like here we go, and asked if I was sure it was pain because with the epi I should only feel pressure. I told her it was hard to describe but it was a pressure/pain. The doctor checked me and said that I was only 5cm which I couldn't believe because the pressure was SERIOUS!!! They both left the room and I told SO something was wrong. I could feel he coming down and it was like a bowel movement type body extraction thing going on at the same time and it hurt like a motherfudger!
I yelled get the nurse he's coming out and with in seconds nurses and doctors about 6 were in there. They lifted the cover and said,"she's right, the babies right there, let's push". I heard them but I couldn't let go of the bed railing it was my comfort zone and they asked me to turn over and I couldn't, I just pushed twice and my 7 lbs even 19 1/2 inches baby was born. Not crying just looking around. They didn't let SO catch the baby like he was suppose to, we didn't have a chance to delay the cord clamping but SO was able to take the placenta home as he wanted to bury it with a tree. Well here's a pic of my little peanut. Best wishes to all you mommies!
