I am a dumb a**-advice needed

So I have been posting about my pink or blue party for awhile now of FB.  I wasn't thinking about the impression I was giving.  So one of my "friends", same friend who wants her car seat back, posted on my last post.  She said something about not getting an email/invite and not to be presumptious but what time is the party.

UM I didn't invite her on purpose for various reasons. #1 She is my DH's good friends wife, but DH can't stand her!

What do I do?  Suck it up because it's my damn fault for saying something in the first place.  UGH I hate these situations.

  • Can you tell her that it's just for family?

ETA I can't believe she did that, it should be obvious they're not invited and to put you in that position is pretty rude.

  • You might have to suck it up, especially if your DH would normally want his friend there.  Hopefully there will be enough people at the party that she won't be able to bother him too much.

Otherwise, do you have enough family in the area that you could tell her that it's a family-only party?

  • What does your dh say? Are they going to be really hurt and cause more stress and problems if they aren't there?

If you can handle having her around for the party it might be best.

  • How many people are coming?  Is it mostly family?  If so you could just say "It's just a small party with mostly family... we'll post pics of the results!"

If you invite these people, does that open up floodgates of obligations to invite other friends?

  • I talked to DH, he is going to talk to her DH, they are playing ball together today. He said "if you don't want the world to know, don't put it on FB. Gee thanks babe.

This from me too! I was like "oh oh!!" when I read that on FB.

Maybe just blame your DH & say he was meant to  pass the message onto your friends husband - we all know that husbands can be forgetful :)

Enjoy the party though - can't wait to hear what it will be!!!

LOL. I saw that too. Best reply is NO response. You cannot be expected to invite every friend to every gathering. I'm sure they don't invite you to all of theirs (not that you'd go). Give them back the car seat (so rude) and do your best to let this "friendship" fade away. The hubbies can see each other on their own (for real your DH is on 5 teams?!)
