Please give me some much needed hope.. What makes this worse is that I can't hold on to hope because this was our once chance. I can't say, "maybe the next one will work!"
1. Do you know anyone who tried IUI/IVF that did not work and went on to get pregnant with a natural cycle?
2. Should I try BCP one more time before trying? They said that helps but I hate to waste one more month.
3. Any other tips for the natural process?
4. Should I consult my OB who is more approachable than the RE who struck me the wrong way for many, many reasons?!
Feeling confused right now and very emotional. I really thought that IUI would work & I felt pregnant but it turned out it was because I was having a 22 day cycle vs. 28 day cycle.
I had them send me the dr. notes since I won't be going back to him and according the the notes, I had DOR and a slightly elevated FSH. Makes it difficult when I don't like him or really trust him at this point. He should have told me about the DOR when I met with him instead of saying it's a brain/body message thing due to age.
Thank you.
PS I want to thank all of you for walking me through the IUI process. You were supportive and helpful. I truly can't wait to see all of your BFPs! I will never stop jumping for joy when others get pregnant.
Re: Natural cycle after failed IUI- Possible?
I appreciate you telling me your story more than anything! I needed to hear this. I am making plans to join WW, get in shape, start working out, quit drinking wine, maybe take DHEA despite my RE saying there is no scientific evidence that it works. I don't trust him very much ;-)
i got pg during a non medicated cycle (fsh and e2 were both too high for meds) ... had one little follie that we monitored ... had an iui, but not sure that is what did it since i also did acupuncture and had lots of sexy time.
don't give up hope.
That is great and I really wish we could do another IUI. I guess a miracle can happen.

Thank you! Awesome story and one that makes me smile. I need these stories right now.
I am also here to give hope. I got pregnant naturally after a failed IVF when we were TTC #2. We conceived DD #1 via IVF and so I had always thought we'd likely need meds to conceive again. We tried two natural cycles when we were TTC or 2nd and then I went to RE for an IVF cycle. For some reason in my gut I had a sinking feeling it didn't work and sure enough the day I was supposed to go in for testing I got my AF. I was much more emotionally drained doing IVF for baby #2 - my heart just wasn't as gung ho about being a pin cushion. We knew we had to take the month after the failed cycle off because we had a vacation planned right in the middle of it. So I decided what the heck, I'll use my CBEFM and we'll just go the natural route.
I had read of people getting pg naturally right after a failed cycle and prayed it would happen to us too. The whole month I used the CBEFM all I got was high reading which was super bizarre because I'd always gotten a peak before when I used it. I then had some light spotting for 2 days a week before my AF was due. Part of me wondered if it was implantation bleeding but I was too nervous to get my hopes up and thought maybe my body was totally outta whack from the failed IVF. Sure enough, a week later my AF didn't show. I was one day late and couldn't wait anymore so I tested and got a BFP. I couldn't believe we conceived naturally when it took us 2 years to conceive our first child, which was eventually with IVF. I'm thrilled to say we had our 2nd daughter naturally and she just turned a year old last month.
There are many of us that are proof that anything can happen. So always believe that it can happen to you too. Best of luck.
Wonderful! Thank you for sharing your awesome story.
