Pottery Barn Kids Bedding... Sales and Retired Patterns.. Help!

Hi ,

I wasn't able to find the post but I know people on here have mentioned PBK having sales around this time of year and then introducing new patterns. Does anyone know if they discontinue patterns also? Should I buy now if I really love it?

 Also have heard retired/discontinued patterns end up in the outlets sometimes. Any experience with this? TIA !!!!

    They just introduced their new line and the old line is on sale.  It is difficult to find the discontinued items and people will sell them for a lot.  The discontinued sheets I want for DD#2 are $60 on ebay and that is just the sheets, not the rest of the set!

    They do discontinue some patterns, but I would ask the store clerk, they usually have a clue.  I registered for the Lambie pattern and was concerned about the same thing and the lady knew they weren't bc it's too popular.

    If its something you love and its on sale, go for it now.  PB outlets are so few and far in between and there's no guarantee as to what they will have in stock, and even if they have it, they are likely to end up with odds and ends.  I went to check out the PBK store selection today and the online prices and selection is better.

    I suggest talking with people at a store and see if they can tell you.  Normally if they know something will be discontinued, they will tell you. 

    Having said that, I'm not one to wait and then worry about getting the pieces I want.  My DH works at PB part time, and I gave him specific instructions on what to order tonight when he went to work (he's ordering the bedding from PBK - his discount works there as well).  I want the lamb set and it's on sale and I'm worried I won't get it all. 

    Not long ago, we ordered our whole dining room set from PB.  They charged us, THEN called and said it was no longer available.  I threw a fit, called the 800 number and complained and before you knew it, our pieces were again available!  Granted, they did discontinue the set, so we can only hope nothing ever breaks.

    Regardless, Good luck!  I hope you are able to get everything you want before it gets discontinued.  If not, I have found their customer service is fairly decent.

    I agree with all of this. I bought my nursery bedding on clearance last fall and none of the extra pieces are available for the bargain price I paid for the staples. I'm fine with this but I'm glad I didn't wait around, b/c the set was sold out quickly after going on clearance.

    I used to work at PBK. They have seasonal bedding which usually is gone pretty fast and bedding that is always there. If you name the collection you like I can give you an idea. Also, stores can look up items and see if other stores carry them. I spent many shifts on the phone trying to find items for someones nursery. Also, when I was working there the Hayley was very popular and always on Back Order!

    Do you know anything about the Pottery Barn Kids Jackson crib set. It appears like a lot of the extras like the lamp, night light are all long gone. Is this crib set on it's way out as well?

    That bedding was part of the spring line last year. If it didn't do to well they would be phasing it out. If you are buying in store look at the price. If the price ends in .99 then it is being cleared out. .97 is final sale and they no longer make the item. Also, you can ask an associate to look up in the computer to see if the item has a next shipment to the warehouse date. If it does then the item is still going to be made. Always ask the associates! They should warn you if you put a seasonal item on your registry. If I think of anything else I will let you know!
