We decided to use glass bottles instead of plastic, but didn't consider at the time that warming them up would be different. DH tried to put one in our bottle warmer last night and the glass got super hot. (the milk inside was lukewarm). This morning I warmed it up in a bowl of hot tap water. It didn't get particularly warm, but Isaac didn't seem to mind. Google tells me that most people warm their glass bottles in bowls of water, but some just give it to baby straight out of the fridge. I'm inclined to try that next time, he doesn't seem picky when he's asking to eat. What are you all doing? This is pumped breast milk if that makes a difference.
