I can't remember exactly what we did. I know we bought them some lunch - pizza or McDonalds something like that, lots of water/gatorade and then I think we gave them each $25 extra maybe $50. I cannot remember though. We had a fairly simple move but it was hotter than hell that day.
I do remember there were was one or two guys that were a lot more productive than the other guy.
We just moved a couple months ago- we had a 4 bedroom home and TONS of stuff. They were great and were really careful with our stuff and our house. We gave them each $40. The move took about 6-7 hours.
I can't remember how much we tipped them. They were really grateful for a cooler of cold waters/ gatorade and some packs of crackers/snacks that they could grab and go.
I usually do 20-30 depending on how hard they work. I will say I don't have very much stuff so its usually takes less than the 3 hour minimum. I would tip more if they were spending all day moving. I don't usually do lunch (usually move early in the morning), but I do drinks and snacks or doughnuts.
We bought them lunch and gatorade, and then gave them $60 to split between 4 of them (so, $15 each). It ended up taking them almost 11 hours when I was quoted 6 hours, so I didn't feel like I needed to do more than that.
