Grad Gift Question

We are going to a graduation party for my Uncle's step-son.  I don't really know him all that well, so was planning on getting him a gift card.  However, I don't even know whe he likes, therefore I have no idea on what type of gift card to get him.  So I think we are going to end up giving him cash.

What is an acceptable amount?  I was thinking $25, but that seems small.  Is it appropriate?

M + K = 05.16.09 | A.P. = 02.27.11

Re: Grad Gift Question

  • I don't think that's a small amount for someone you don't really know well.  It's sweet of you guys to do that.

  • I think that's a perfectly fine amount of $$ to spend, too! How about an Amazon.com giftcard? Who can't find something cool to buy there?

  • A step-cousin that I don't know well would just get a card from me.  My family is huge though, if I were to buy gifts for all the cousins, etc, I'd go broke.

Seriously - Uncle's Step Son?  That's so far removed that I can't even imagine going.   But if you like the kid, I think $25 is great.  It's several six packs of beer for later. :)
