Article on childhood obesity prevention

I received this article from my dad today, with the subject as "once thin, always thin; once fat, always fat".

I replied with "Well what happened to me? I was always a skinny baby, toddler, and adolescent!" He hasn't replied....

Re: Article on childhood obesity prevention

  • Interesting read.  I can't believe the statistic that 40% of children ages 4-6 have a television in their bedroom.  If that is accurate, that is absolutely insane.  I didn't even own a television until I was 22....

  • I haven't read the article yet, but I wish your dad's thinking was true.  I was thin until college.

I always blame his genetics when he gives me crap about my weight. I just tell him that it's his fault. Smile

    Me too!

  • I'll have to give this a read since my mom suggested I start counting calories for Charlotte.  Seriously... she's TWO!  She's been picking on her weight and build since she was born though, so I don't know why it came as a surprise when she said this.

I kind of shared in jest because my dad is constantly commenting on Alex's weight. He mentions frequently that he could stand to "miss a meal".

  • Am I thinking right that he was the one that said Alex needed to lose weight?

Yeah that is what I was thinking too. Didn't he comment on his diet or exercising or something. No offense to  your dad but he is a bit crazy...Stick out tongue Don't get me wrong kids are way more overweight nowadays and many more cases of diabetes but still.
