Heart rate and gender

Just for fun, do you remember what your baby's heart rate was at around 8 weeks, and are you having a boy or a girl?

With DD at 8 weeks it was 177 bpm. Now with this baby, at 8 weeks it is 188 bpm.

I know, I know, it's just an old wives tale. However, my friend has my husband believing that this baby is going to be a girl for sure and I told him it's too early to tell just by the heart rate. We are both ecstatic to have another LO, so it doesn't matter to us if it's a boy or girl, but secretly I know he really wants a boy

I don't remember the heartrates at that time without looking in the pregnancy journals, but this baby has had a lower heart rate than DD and it's another girl.

Just this week I was checking heart rates on twins, a boy and a girl. The girl's HR was lower than the boys. HR has not a damn thing to do with gender.

Our LO's heart rate was 172 at 8 weeks and we are having a boy!! Good luck

You have a 50/50 shot of it being true! but with DD it was high 170's and with this one it was in the very high 180's until 13 weeks and now its around 160's

LO was 151 the first time we went in, and then it was 146 at this last appointment. And, it's a girl. So, I definitely think it's nonsense.

Also, I've been craving salt more than sweet - again, just another OWT.

With both of my pregnancies the heartrate has been consistantly around 160 and both were girls. I'm not trying yours is or isn't a girl. That's just my experience.

At 8 weeks this baby's HR was 180 and I just knew it was a girl...and she is!

At 8 weeks the baby's HR was 156. Throughout my entire pregnancy thus far, the HR has been any where from 152 to 162. We are having a boy and his HR has been consistantly 152 to 154. In the beginning everyone thought a girl, but when I started to show (which I popped out early) everyone thought boy.

At my 8 week appointment, my LO's heart rate was 154 and he is a boy.

155 heartbeat. My experience has been the faster heartbeats were my 3 girls and my 4 boys were slower. Of course, there is no guarantee of it determining the gender. So, I think you might be having a girl!

With my DD her heartrate at 10 weeks was 140ish. With this lo it was 160ish (but I ate a bag of M&Ms before my appointment so baby was probably on a sugar high!) My tech lectured me about the heartrate when I had my ultrasound with my dd because "its all about what you eat and drink, and how active your baby is being during the ultrasound. If baby is sleeping the heartrate will be lower, if baby is up and moving it will be higher. ALSO it depends on how far along you are, if your early on the heartrate is still trying to find its rythem and bounces up anad down naturally..." But its still fun to use it when guessing!

This baby has always been between 149-155. and it's a girl.

My baby's heart rate has always been over 140. Supposedly that means a girl, however, I am having a boy. So don't count on it. My doctor even told me to discount that old wives tale.

Yeah it's bogus. My son's HR was 170-160 unti about 14weeks
