I just caught up on your post of scented TP.  DH thinks I am nuts and he does not believe scented or colored TP existed. 

 My mom was highly allergic to the scented TP and would carry a roll of normal TP around in her purse. And my grandma had a very typical 80's wall papered bathroom with peach flowers.  She only bought the peach TP!

    Sorry to butt in but what is the point of scented TP?  Is it supposed to make your butt or the bathroom smell good?

    I have no freaking clue.  It smelled like a funeral home to me.

    DH's grandmother has a bathroom that is decorated in brown and blue.  The toilet is chocolate brown, and rectangular, really really retro, and she special orders baby blue toilet paper!

    I don't get it.  It's single ply and see through and you have to use a mile of it not to have seep through problems!

    I have a roll of pink tp (not sure if its scented) - mom and I give it back and forth to each other - just to be silly.  I have no idea where it came from.  It think it started in college :/

    Not sure what direction we are headed. Either way, I am up for the ride.

    My mom still buys them like this.  The color of the box and the tissue - to match the room they are in.  

    I usually grab a box and keep on shopping.  No thought process.  

    Not sure what direction we are headed. Either way, I am up for the ride.

    That is how I have ended up with pink Kleenex.  DH couldn't use it.  He laughed everytime he grabbed one and would say "My boogers are going to land on pink!"

    It is awesome.  Unfortunately she's getting ready to remodel, which sucks, because I never thought to get a picture!

    people are serious about their toilet paper!! and also remember the toilet bowl colored dye things that people had (my GRANNY) my mom said those were trashy too. (and in retrospect...yeah. but as a kid I thought it was amaaaaazing.)

    I used to work at a paper mill that made toilet paper (among other things). On the days that they made the scented kind, it made the whole place smell, and it alwasy gave me a headache. You could even smell it in the parking lot. That stuff is nasty. For this brand, the TP itself isn't scented, it's just the cardboard core that has scent on it.

    I never understood why people bought that stuff either. It's gross.

    You guys. My mom used to buy tp with Christmas patterns on it for the holidays. I hqd totally forgotten about it until Edith mentioned the colored stuff last night.
