  • Hi Ladies,

Sorry my bump break ended up being more of a break than originally anticipated.

Here is our story:  I was about to jump back on the bump last Friday after work when DH called me crying. He was driving home from work and was having very intense lower abnominal pain. We went to the ER at a community hospital (big mistake!)

They didn't really know what the problem was so for about 7 hours my DH lay in a bed crying in agony. They did 2 CT scans and saw that he did have a blockage, but they didn't know why.....I have never felt so helpless before in my life.

The kicker was on the way back from the 2nd CT scan the nurse wheeling my husband whispered to him "you should go someplace else. They are wasting time here..."  I really started to panic after the nurse told us to go someplace else.

They were doing a very poor job at managing his pain so after 6 hours I requested a doctor to doctor transfer into a Boston hospital. While we waiting for the paperwork to be done and the ambulance I requested they put in a NG tube to help alleviate the pressure. I shouldn't of had to request this - they should have put the tube down his throat hours ago. It took them 6 tries to do it!

I felt the EMT in the ambulance were more concerned about his pain than the doctors in nurses at our local hospital. Once we arrived at the boston hospital I felt a bit better.

They switched the pain meds to morphine and he finally felt some relief. They also turned up the vaccum on the NG tube to clear out his belly. We also found out the local hospital overdosed him on pain meds.

Since his levels were off (due to the overdose) and his pain wasn't an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10 they observed him all day on Saturday.

He had surgery on Sunday and was sent home on Tuesday. They found adhesions, blockage in small intestines, fluid in his pelvic wall, and also removed his appendix. He has never had surgery before so they aren't sure why he has adhesions. He might of had colitis in the past that went untreated??

We still have to go through pathology reports with the surgeon on July 5th....

So TTC is now on the back burner while he recovers. I am so happy he is doing better. I pray the pathology reports are positive.

I'm looking forward to hearing everyone's updates and also getting back involved on the board.

Edit: Sorry for the book and that my post was all about DH. For once in the past 5 months I've been worried about something besides ny reproductive health Embarrassed

  • I am doing pretty well.  My m/s isn't as bad, but the heartburn is back full force and I am definitely having some food aversions now.  I have also started getting some RLP, which I am thrilled about because I feel like that is a good sign that LO is growing away in there.  My next appointment is 7/8 for my NT scan and OB appointment.  I am really hoping the OB will try to listen to the heartbeat with the doppler since I have never experienced that before.

We got some bad, and very disturbing news this week.  A friend of ours, who we worked with and was a regular part of our social group, has turned out to be a convicted pedophile and child porn maker.  Nobody who knew him suspected anything in the least.  He confessed, but there are still files on his computer that are encrypted and he refuses to tell them how to access them.  I am terrified about what those files might contain.  He was sentenced to 17.5 years in prison, which will likely be a life sentence to him as he has a degenerative neurological disorder.  I feel like I am mourning the death of a friend and trying to adjust to an alternate realty at the same time.

Tomorrow we are going to Portland for the weekend which I am looking forward to.  After this horrible week, I could really use the relaxation.  Then next weekend we are camping again (I think I am starting to get burnt out on camping) and then we finally have a weekend off.

QOTW: My favorite summer drink is Rosemary Lemonade.  I need to make some of this soon.

    Hi Ladies!

MDT, I am sorry you and your DH received such horrible treatment at your local hospital! I am glad that your DH is doing better and I hope that the pathology reports come back with positive results. T&Ps coming for you two.  Keep us posted!

Eris-Alexis, Yay for RLP :) You are getting closer and closer to second tri :) As for your friend, I am sorry he shocked you the way he did, but thank goodness he was caught before your LO got here. That's such terrible news!

Ok my updates :) A/S was amazing! We found out LO is a perfect little girl :) Everything looked great! She was moving around and not cooperating with the u/s tech. I could actually feel her moving as the tech was trying to do her measurements. DH and I then did a little shopping and bought her a couple little things to celebrate. It was a wonderful day!

As for the house it is still destroyed and we are waiting for the reports to come back from the mold specialists that will clear the house to be put back together again. We are still living in our efficiency, but I am loving the amenities so I am trying to make the best of it.

  • Wow MD that is quite the whirlwind experience. It is tough when our "rocks" are in the hospital. My DH was in the hospital last September for unknown reasons and it was so incredibly hard to watch. I hope that your guy has a quick recovery and that the results come back good. hugs.

I'm so sorry about your house.  I would be loving the amenities too,  but there is nothing quite like being at home.  I hope the mold report comes back soon so you guys can start putting the house back together.

  • Well it sounds like people have been having a lot go on. As for me things have been going pretty good. Its hard to ignore my body and right now I feel like O but I haven't charted a single thing and its kinda early for me. Trying to ignore the 'weird' feelings. Its hard but I also feel relieved at the same time. Its crazy! I am struggling emotionally trying to choreograph a mother/ daughter dance for our church. We start practice in 2 weeks and I barley have it done. Its hard when my LO can't be with me to dance. I will get through it! I tried to get out of it this year but everyone was pressuring me to do this. I couldn't explain why I didn't want to choreograph this without telling everyone about my MCs. So since it's my thing at church and this is what they want I am stuck. Sorry for complaining. Hope everyone has a great weekend :)

  • Eris - Sorry about heartburn..that does not feel good but I am excited for your NT scan and hope all goes well! - ya for almost to 2nd tri.   Smile   Wow.. that is crazy about the friend Tongue Tied sorry to hear.

Obxjs09 - I'm glad you are feeling relief from this process for a bit.. it sure can get to ya.  Sorry that you got stuck doing the dance :(  I'm sure it's tough, but hopefully it will work out and I'm sure it will be great.

MDT082010 - Wow, very scary for DH.  I hope everything turns out ok and you get positive results.  Sending over T&Ps

StaceyM06 - How are you doing these days?

PiperS - So glad the u/s went well and congrats - very exciting.  sorry the house is still a pain.. I hope they can get things moving soon so you can go back.

xnbride - How are you my dear?  What is new?

As for me... Urology appt. went well this morning, although not sure what has caused the stones. My calcium and uric acid came back normal as did all the other things and I have 2 good stone inhibitors so... ??  It's possible (but no way to know) that I got them while pg. as that can happen. She said she does see some woman only pass stones when pg. so we'll just have to wait and see how it goes.  So I go back in a 1yr, if pg, then we push it out til after.   She said she only saw 3 vs. 5 and they are pretty small, 1-2mm so I may be able to pass on my own, or there could be pain - again wait and see.  But overall I'm feeling good.
Glad you all got to see the pics of the yard :)  so happy to have something to look at green back there.

As for this cycle, I got kinda "scientific" on myself the other night figuring dates, times of BD'ing relative to O, tried to figure out when it happened when pg last Nov. (didn't temp then) but alas.... I then told myself to stop and just try to relax and be positive and enjoy.  I think knowing this is my last cycle to get + before EDD kinda got to me.  So here I am back on the positive track and trying to see if DH and I can do the sperm/egg plan - we'll see. We got the first 2 down, so far so good. Since DH's had a bad night shift, he's gettin' beer for Sat. in cooler in garage, I'm breaking out the wine and we are gonna go with "drunk BD'ing" that day/night - we figure WTH, can't hurt and why not, plus his bday is Sund. so we are celebrating that too.  :)    I am so hoping we all can meet you ladies on the other side this coming cycle.

I'm so glad that your appointment went well.  Is it possible for the stones to dissolve on their own?  I hope they don't cause you too much pain.

GL this cycle.  I hope the sperm/egg plan works out.  I have my FX for you!!  And have fun with the drunken BD plans.

Me too! I was worried if they grew bigger or diet changes, but :)  She didn't say they would dissolve, but could pass without me knowing ( I like that scenario!)   I am hoping the s/e plan works too, I'm ready to be at the next phase.   I think I am going to 'work it' sat. night if I can.. little outfit... Wink  hahaha.   I can't wait to hear  how your appt. goes and will be sending you good thoughts.  I hope you have a good time in Portland too!  Hopefully it's nice weather.

I am doing pretty well.

Yay for symtoms! Sorry about the food adversions though. I'm also sorry to hear about your friend. So scary and upsetting!

So exciting that you found out the sex of the LO! I hope your house gets put back together ASAP!

Well it sounds like people have been having a lot go on.

Corndog8 how did your appt go?

xnbride how are things going with you?

My new fav summer drink is a mojito!

I'm so sorry you have to do the choreography for the mom/daughter dance. That is a big challenge. ((Bug hugs!!)) You are strong and will get through it. We are here to support you.

Glad to hear your appt went well! I hope you don't have to deal with the stones. Hopefully they will stay put and not bother you. FX the sperm/egg plan works for you. Everything I have read sounds very promising. GL this weekend Wink Happy Birthday to your DH!
