We plan to, but I haven't read any books on it yet.

Ask me in a year! I do run with the LLL crowd, so it could happen.
I think she means so far as introducing solids is concerned. BLW refers to giving babies non-pureed solids (basically table food) starting around 6 months.

I forgot recommendations... I haven't dived into books much yet, but babyledweaning.com has a book you can buy on amazon/kindle. Ive mostly been reading blogs, online articles so far.
I think we did BLW but I don't really understand what the alternative is. Spoon feeding? We did that some too.
We never did jarred baby foods, purees or rice cereal. We just gave her some of whatever we were eating, as long as it was safe for her. First foods were soft things like banana and avocado. We used mesh feeders too. I think she's a pretty good eater for a toddler, but not sure if I deserve any credit for that.

Didn't you know? Those of us with poor eaters did it to ourselves. It has nothing to do with the fact that I would have have put my knee in my toddlers chest at 1 to force feed him our table food...just that I am a bad mom who is creating a problem for myself.

I found tons of useful stuff on line. The AP board is a great place to ask questions too. I found this site when researching EC, it kind of got me started with BLW. Ankaret was really not interested in cereals or purees so this worked well for us.

I have a friend who is also an expat here. She's a midwife in England but can't practice here. She was telling me about a book that is really good because I am planning on BLWing. I can't remember what it is called and she is in England right now visiting family. I will ask her the name next time I see her and get back to you.

Actually it isn't in relation to breastfeeding, it is in relation to introducing solids. Strange name, huh?

I don't think so...I think my SIL might have partially done BLW and she used formula from the word go.
