Home Buying Ladies..

I know there we're several ladies and thier fams looking at and purchasing houses lately (BlueLu, Zazzu, and others I can't remember) I was wondering how everyone is doing thier process. Have you closed, are you moved in, hows your decorating/renovating going. We just signed all of our closing papers yesterday and get our keys tomorrow.

  • Yay congrats!! We are *hopefully* closing tomorrow! We already moved in (b/c we bought it from relatives) but we spent almost a month working on the house beforehand. The previous owners took so much stuff out of it. We got new appliances, painted, put in shelving, new lighting in the bathrooms. There is still a lot to do but we got a lot done. I think the next big project is the master bath, taking out the outdated floor and counter top. What are you guys working on?

  • Well our house will need some updating. But for our intital move in we're going to paint, refinish the hardwood, replace the carpet on the stairs (it is the most amazing red shag currently), we haven't decided if we should carpet the boys rooms or just refinsh the hardwoods and do throw rugs. We'll probably update the bathrooms over the next year. Our kitchen is going to need a total overhaul but it'll most likely take a year or so before we get there. It's our  little fixer upper that we;ve been dreaming of.

  • Is it bad that it sounds fun to me?!? Lol. Love the red shag carpet :) We got really lucky that our carpet looks clean even tho it has tons of stains, and I just put rugs over the really bad parts. There are some cans of paint in the garage with some crazy colors! I'm SO glad they painted before they moved, at least a lot of the upstairs was white (just dirty, so I painted over). I am currently re-doing the upstairs "kid" bathroom as much as I can, but its so hard with two little ones. What area did you move to?

  • No way it doesn't sound bad, it sounds fun to me too. My parents own a few rentals and we have helped them redo there houses several times (including the one we currently live in) and I enjoy which is why we went the fixer route. We live in Tacoma and bougth not far from where we live now.
