RP from 12-24: Disney World Tips

My DH, DS and I are heading to Disney World for the second time mid-September. The first time we were there we only went to Magic Kingdom because he was only 15 months old. This time he will be almost 26 months old. For those of you who have been with a LO this age, do you have any suggestions on other parks that are young kid friendly to visit? Also, we were considering going to a Disney Water Park. Do you think it will still be warm enough to do this? If so, any preference on which park is better?
And other than Disney, any ideas on other fun, toddler appropriate activities in the area? We were also contemplating going to Daytona Beach and I saw there was a Kid's Touch Museum there...has anyone been and is it worth going to with a child his age? TIA for any help or thoughts!

We did all the parks except the water ones both times we have taken our daughter. We took her when she was 19 months and this past December. She really enjoyed herself more this last time since she knew more of the characters. I think there is always a lot of different stuff at each park for children of all ages. Check out wdwmagic.com and disboards.com.
We have only stayed on Disney property both times, so not sure what else is in the area.

If you weren't planning on bringing your own stroller along (avoid checking at airport, etc.), I highly recommend Orlando Stroller rentals. They delivered the stroller to our hotel and picked it up when I specified. The stroller was clean and perfect in all aspects.
There's a little bit for him to do in all the parks, so maybe a park hopper pass?
Oh honey. It will be warm enough in September for a water park. No problem. September is very much summer here. Plan ahead for heat. Don't think it will be cooled down. (And don't let this comment worry you; you'll be fine. Disney does a great job of mixing in AC areas and rides so you'll have a chance to cool down, but I really think it's good if you know you're coming in the summer, and nothing less.)
I would just reiterate the general comment of don't try to do everything. Go to the park early, enjoy a long morning there, and plan on going back to your hotel for the afternoon, and then maybe back to the parks for the evening. Make sure to catch fireworks at least once.
Lily really loves the characters, and she always has. We usually spend a lot of time visiting characters. Bonus! Mickey has fast passes now in MK.
Boat rides are hit or miss with her. We (ok, I) love the teacups. She loves Dumbo and its variations.
Staying on property is worth every dime and a whole lot more. I flove the Animal Kingdom Lodge. It's so unique; you just won't find anything else like it. Also, it has a fabulous pool, but even better, you can also use the newer pool at the DVC sister property next door (Kidani Village).
Make sure to do the pictures with the Disney "photographers" because you'll get a little card and can check the pictures later online, no obligation to buy, and a lot of times, the photog will offer to take a few pics with your camera too.
These are all the things off the top of my head. Lower your expectations, relax, and have fun! HTH

Another "mom" tip (not necessarily toddler) I read at disboards.com was to get a dry sponge, drizzle dish soap all over it and let it dry up. Cut it up into strips and take along with you to the parks in a Ziploc. It's a quick and easy way to clean out sippy cups or the refillable mugs you get at the resort. As soon as water hits the sponge it foams up great for quick clean ups.
The PP mentioned the Disney photographers, and I will tell you this. We spent $99 ordering a pre-order photopass cd and it was the best money we spent. We were there for a week and had over 500 photos taken by Disney photographers while we were there. You basically pre-order all those photos to be placed on a cd with permission to print. It was a great way to get really gorgeous family photos.
I would plan to spend the majority of your time at MK or Playhouse Disney in HS. IMHO Epcot and AK didn't have as much Toddler friendly rides/attractions.
