January 2012 Moms

Impromptu snack day and I can't join in :(

Apparently a different dept in my building is having a bake sale.  So all of my co-workers are going over and bringing back ridiculously looking delicious treats and talking and moaning over them.  I'm allergic to EVERYTHING they have available.  (and cheating on this food allergy could give my baby birth defects so cheating isn't even close to worth it). So I get to sit here and watch people drool over their caramel cinnamon rolls, rice krispie treats with caramel, bars, cookies, cakes......

I would cry except for I'm wearing my big girl panties today. So I won't.

not to play "pity party" but I only have a 30mn lunch break and don't have a car at work so unfortunately it's not an option Sad

I just hate being left out!  I seriously pray that none of my kids will develop Celiac Disease...it's so unfair.

  • I have a dietician in my office I will have to ask her if there are any good gluten free snacks.  Sweets.  I will see if she has recipes too.  I can't stand to see another bumpie not being able to indulge.

  • I grabbed the dietician as she was walking by my office.  She gave me a few recipes for stuff if you want them, Gluten free brownies, which she said is really good.  Also she said the whole foods has cake mixes and brownie mixes that are gluten free and you just add the eggs, ect.  She also gave me a recipe for chocolate moose pie, and chocolate truffles, all gluten free.

I will take the recipes for these if you have time!  Thanks!  That is very sweet of you!!!!

I almost wish it was more common so there'd be ppl making gf treats for bake sales :)  I always do, but people sometimes turn up their nose when I label it as gf and then they don't want to try it. Like it has poison or something!
