I am sure I am going to wish I brought a million things that I will be leaving home, but what would you make sure to bring if you were going OOT for 2 nights (3 days) - we will be staying in a hotel room (with the ILs, yay!)
- so far the list includes clothes, diapers, wipes, sun hat, sunblock (I know, but for those bits I can't cover...), wraps, pump/bottles/cooler...
P&R... up from nap...
Re: Spending the weekend OOT (hotel) - what to bring?
I just did this with my 3 month old a few weeks ago on a weekend trip to Miami. I am BF also, but did need to wash some bottles, pump parts, etc. from pumping. I took a small bottle of dish detergent, so that worked fine. My kiddo got some pumped bottles when we had a night out and a couple of times during the day because it was just easier, so having some disposable nipples around was great so I did not have to worry about washing those (I had some left from the hospital freebie bag -- maybe you do too?)?. I'd take some paper towels/napkins for easy clean up when wipes won't work. I'd also take a thermometer and some tylenol just in case. And cottonballs for kiddo's ears if you are flying.
Pretty easy to travel with at this age -- have fun!
We have been going to my boyfriend's parent's house almost every weekend since she was 2 weeks old. We have learned to bring way less then when we started.
Are you going to be in a hotel room 24/7 or out doing things?? Really you just need a stroller/sling, place for baby to sleep, a few small toys (rattles/teethers) and maybe the bumbo if you have one. Most of the things we have for babies now are modern conveniences and yes they are great but completely unnecessary.
I'd recommend calling the hotel and asking if they have mini fridges available (unless you know for sure there will be one in your room). Most hotels have extras on hand.
If you're relying on the hotel to supply a crib/PnP, bring a sheet of both sizes; you never know what they'll consider a "crib".
Boppy if you think you might need it; I was glad to have mine; it made BF'ing on the road a lot easier.
Extra wet bags
Soap & lotion if you're swimming in a cholorinated pool
Thanks all!
I am sure I will end up overpacking, but I would rather have more than I need than less.
