Success after IF

Anyone do back2back FETs????

I'm pretty sure this last FET didn't work. (meh,we're shocked, kinda, I mean, sludge blood didn't help, I'm sure. But at least it wasn't another c/p) and we still have 3 more embryos in the freezer.

Anyone know how soon I can do ANOTHER FET? (I have a call into my clinic, just gathering experiences)

I'm asking because I'm on steroids, and will need to be on them for another transfer... but I'd sure like a break from them if it'll be a few weeks until I can xfer again. To say "I hate them" is the biggest understatement of the year.

What's the "turn around time" in your clinic?

Thanks.

I haven't because we only had one embryo left but I know my clinic does them...not sure what Back2Back entails in terms of timing.

  • I've done three (well almost - didn't get the third in but medicated for it) in a row. At the whackadoodle RE's office that we used, the minimum time on estrogen is three weeks before transfer. However if we were using my eggs it would be two weeks obviously. (actually less but whatever.)

  • I did a back to back to back IVF, FET and then another FET.  Since I was doing "unmedicated" FETs (no lupron or BCP) they let me start as soon as I got AF.  Turn around at my clinic is pretty quick.

  • I haven't, but I wanted to be nosey and see if you wanted to share how many you txed.  Again, you can tell me to butt out.  I'm just curious - we're coming up on another fresh cycle in July, so your questions has been on my mind.

  • Oh, you can be nosey with me, no prob. We transferred two. And I was happy with that going in, b/c when my dad was sick, Ava fell apart at my absence. I knew that tempting triplets, and the bedrest, etc that can go with it (not to say twins don't....) I just couldn't knowingly risk/ask for that.

Of course, now I'm glad that 3rd was spared and still chillin' with it's sibs. lol.

We'll either do 2 again, and save the 3rd for another ute, or go for broke and do all, and maybe even do our last stim cycle available to us as part of the warranty. Now that I know I can shut my body up to reactions, all I have to do is fix the blood thing (whateverthefeckitis) and we're golden. Right? lol.

A new hemo doc will look at me July 6th. Can't wait :::rolls eyes::::  And evidently my clinic takes a long 3 weeks off in late August, (rough life, lol) so it DOES look like I can roll right into another FET cycle and transfer late July or early august.

Funny sidebar - the nurse scolded me for POAS. lol. If she only knew....  she also says there's still hope. Um, I'm 7dp5dt and I couldn't squint a 2nd line if I tried. And I'm a professional. lol.

  • Not back to back FETs but I did 3 back to back cycles.. fresh, FET and another Fresh.. I didnt take a break. It was hard and being on so many hormones for such a long time made me a little nutty but it wasn't terrible. I also had insurance at the time that covered iVF and I was afraid that if we took a break, something would change w our insurance (which it did, Dh company got bought out!. But yourRE should allow you to do it.
  • ugh--I hope you are wrong about this FET outcome  :(

I would recommend waiting a cycle, but I think peopel have gone back to back before!

  • Man, this sucks in every way possible. I hope they'll let you roll right into another one if this one doesn't work. Uggghhhh.
  • I think it depends on your RE protocol, but just yesterday I saw on resolve that they are now recomnending back to back cycle; however most docs still want patients to take a 1 month break.  I don't see why you can't just jump right in!    On another note...I really hope you are wrong and your FET did work.  Crossing my fingers for you still.
