NT Scan question

We're having our NT scan next Friday, I'll be 12 weeks. Is it typically an internal or external ultrasound? I'm guessing internal but wanted to see if anyone knew.

    mine was external last time. I was surprised. but it was WAY more pleasant since it's such a long one.

    I asked when I called to make the appt and they told me external.  Was hoping it would be external as well.  I'd like to hear from some of the ladies that have had it already.

    Both of mine were external - I was scheduled to go around 10w 4d, and the doc tried their best but he wasn't big enough. I went back at 12w, external, and they got a good shot of the area. I got a lot of pictures from the first tech, but the second one would NOT give me a single picture.

    Ask nicely and they might give you some =)

    I was told external. It takes over an hour so I can't imagine having something stuck in there for that long LOL

    I'm surprised they scheduled you for one that early. the earliest you can do the nt scan is at 11w3d. That is at least the guidelines at my doc's office since you just can't see anything any sooner :/

    I had mine last Wednesday and it was external.  It was much more comfortable! :)

    Thanks ladies, glad to know it will probably be external!

    ETA: I just called the office to confirm, it should be external & we will be given pictures!
