I seriously don't know what to do with this one. Like I feel like I am on Ellen or something.
DH's car, though only a few years old is a POS. Seriously every time something breaks on it (like every few months) we are looking at $900, they have replaced the windshield a million times and for whatever reason it won't stay attached in one corner so DH's car leaks when it rains. His front bumper is falling off and it will be almost $1500 to fix it and his gas mileage stinks. He drives a Versa hatchback and I drive a Equinox. I get better gas mileage than he does. He actually hates his car. Now the a/c in it is broken and while most people suck it up and open a window, DH has to have working a/c in his car, if he gets overheated it can be a problem for his MS. So we have been to 4 different mechanics and the lowest quote we have had to fix it has been $1000. We can't trade cars with each other because DD's car seat doesn't fit in the Versa and when #2 gets here I will for sure need the truck for the two car seats. Given the amount of work needed on it and the fact that it's 4 years old, we are wondering if it's even worth it to fix it or just trade it in and get something that doesn't suck as$.
So DH's birthday is tomorrow, his father called him at his office and said, "I know you hate your car, so if you drive to the GM dealer in X-ville and you like the black Chevy Cruze they have there, it's yours." DH is super pumped. He saw this car with his dad at the car show and that's the car he really wants. In that colour. I will feel so much better with him driving this car. Seriously. The blu-tooth, the On-Star, the a/c all of it. We were thinking we would wait until next year when there wasn't so much going to buy DH's new car but now.. HOLY CRAP! DH GOT A CAR FOR HIS BIRTHDAY!!

Oh I was pissed. I know that they can be an easy fix. If my dad had the right stuff in his shop he would do it. But I guess now they are charging a ridiculous amount of money in "labour" to use the machines to fix the and recharge the machine. I was about to steal DH's car and drive across the border to see if it could be done cheeper.
