He kickes them off as soon as I put them on! Even the velcro sandals that I bought him he some how wiggles them off..and the cute crocs, forget it they are off in 30seconds flat.
I never made him wear shoes as an infant..I was told not too by the pedi and my other mommy friends..But Jake is now pulling up on everything, crusing around furniture, and we are out and about more at the pool/splash pad..and he needs to start wearing shoes..at least getting comfortable with them!
I think it;s some weird sensory thing that is bothering him..he was the same way with Hats for a long time...now I make him wear the ones the straps but baseball caps forget it he rips them off...SO what do I do to make him get comfortable wearing shoes??!! Any other kind of shoes that I should be trying?
TIA!
Re: Help! My kid won't wear shoes..
checking in so I can find this later. I never have J in shoes either. In fact now that it is hot out, I had to debate whether I needed to send him in socks to daycare! (In the end, I thought I should send him in socks because I thought his "teacher" might judge me.)
He hasn't started crusing yet so I am sticking to socks for a while longer. The first thing I do when I get home is take off my shoes so I can't model good shoe behavior!
We are in the same boat with hats - chin strap is the only thing that keeps it on his head.
I found some Robezz(sp?) that i acutally got in MA when he was an infant and they are currently on his feet now (he is having a snack in his high chair) we will see how long they stay on his feet after I take him out!
Maybe he will have been distracted by his snack so he won't remember they are on!!
