Success after IF

Ava and I both went to school today.

Ava's back to her wednesday "Mom's Morning Out" thing, during the summer it includes Lunch Bunch and playtime, too. Score for 5 hours off!

Well, I don't really NEED those 5 hours to myself unless I'm booked to shoot, so my dear sweet husband (blech) challenged me to make a serious dent in my nursing edu-ma-cation. (MSN) I've been SLOWLY plugging away at it, but took a serious fall from the horse with all this pregnancy loss stuff.

Yeah... guess what my next unit covers...

In short:  reproductive health, steroids, and psych.

Um, giddy up. lol.

Anyone else working on a PROJECT this summer? Can't be all fun and games, ya know. het het.

  • Does it count if they aren't voluntary?  Apparently I was signed up as the "OB expert" company wide to learn the new EMR that will be implemented, this covers our practice (6 ob/gyns and 2 np), another practice (8ob/gyns) and an MFM practice with (6MFM and 2NP).  I'm not sure what all this will entail but many of the meetings are 8 hours long.  My first one starts next week at 8am, I don't normally get to work until about 9:15.

What kind of program are you getting your MSN?

  • I was supposed to start grad school, but put it off. And now I have to reapply. So I guess that's my project for the summer. Blech.

  • My project is our backyard...our garage collapsed last year in the snowpocalypse and it acted as a retaining wall for a big chunk of our yard...and...we were a little busy last summer, so now we have to redo our entire yard and figure out how to put in a retaining wall cheaply... blah.  luckily DH has done most of the work so far while I watch DS...I wish I could help, but then when I do go out to help during naps, I'm glad that I'm on babysitting duty!  ha!
  • I also am looking into going back to school, for my MBA. I plan to start in the fall. Right now I am studying for the GMAT, and figuring out where I want to apply. I am currently getting rather frustrated since it has been more than 7 years since I got my undergrad and all the schools want me to retake a bunch of classes I already took because, "The information is too outdated." However, I work in accounting...I dont need to take Accounting 101, I manage people, I dont need to take Introduction to Managing People. I should have done this years ago!! I guess it is just going to take me a little longer than I originally planned.
  • Right after DD was born I decided to change my veterinary career into nursing.  I just finished my BSN in May and i'm taking my NCLEX tomorrow!!! I also completed my neonatal resuscitation certification yesterday.  So yes, i've had ALOT of big education related projects.

    Good luck Davez :)

Good luck, I hope you only get 75 questions!  And NRP is no joke either.

  • My project is to possibly MOVE (just closer to work, nothing too exciting, but big and stressful nonetheless).  Regardless of whether we can move, though, we are going to have a giant yard sale.  Tomorrow is my first day off, and my plan is to go through the girls' rooms and pull out all the too-small clothes, toys they don't play with, etc.  Should be a fun-filled summer.  ;)

  • I have to create a new economics course for next year - I HATE economics!  I have 2 more months to find an interest in it so I can trick 30 high school students into liking it and finding my class fun...ugh.
  • DS is "required" to take a nap  every third day so I can get my classes done.  If only I could just pool, sports class, nap instead of tossing in "Legal Aspects of American Education" the summer would be all fun!
