Updates: Fill us in ? how is your week going? Anything new you have accomplished? Any Dr apts? Let us know your baby names if you have them chosen and I will add them to the list! Newbies- how are you feeling?
QOTW: Will you SAH or work? Have you figured out/ thought of daycare options? Whats the going rate
T & P?s for:
Glowconsin ? How are you sweetie? I didn?t see any updates from your apt? Last update: One of the indenticals has cystic hygroma, fluid in the spine. L waiting to find out more info
SLPMel- Baby B, the boy, has a two vessel cord, meaning he only have one Umbilical Artery. The MFM told me that there is a slight risk of cardiac abnormalities/other abnormalities, as well as a higher risk of IUGR. We have a fetal echo scheduled for later this month
LaneCA ? Little Ben is defying all odds!! This time you are on the winning side of odds (unlike stupid IF) keep the prayers coming girls they are working!
Her latest update 6/21: Fetal echo results: baby Ben's heart, as far as they can tell, is NORMAL!!!!!!!
This is seriously unheard of -- situs ambiguous levocardia (with the heart on the left, stomach on the right, liver midline) is almost always associated with major heart defects. Something like 95% have major heart problems. One other main component of the condition is the spleen -- we don't know yet if Ben has a spleen. If he doesn't, he will be on antibiotics for his whole life. He could also be born with his bowels rotated and need those operated on, but the major component to all of this is a good, working heart! Next up is the MRI in two weeks, followed by another fetal echo the same day, then we'll go from there. Please keep my little boy in your prayers.
BIG CONGRATS September2007!!!! (due aug 3 with b/g)

Re: ~ * ~Twin/Triplet Check-in!!~*~
Updates: ugh, we just moved last week so i've been MIA on here - sorry! we have internet issues at home, so i can only bump during the day and work has been ka-razy!
anyway, i'm pooped from the move. i didn't lift heavy boxes or anything, but the whole process is exhausting. now i have to unpack - can't i just snap my fingers and have everything fall into place? boo.
we do have first names, but no middle names. i think my pact with DH to keep the names secret until birth extends to this board, but let me talk to him about it tonight
next doctor appt is monday!
QOTW: i will work, and we will more than likely hire a nanny. i don't want to think too much about the going rate. lets just say we will be nanny poor for a long time
Hi!! Congrats to September and Lolo!! Continued T&Ps to those who need them.
No new news here. We have another Drs apt on Monday. I can't wait to see the babies again!
QOTW: DH's parents are both retired and will be keeping them for us at least for a while. I'd love to be a SAHM but I'm not sure it will be something we can afford.
Diagnosed PCOS 2/07, TTC #1 since 8/09
11/10 - Clomid Round 1 = BFN
12/10 - Clomid Round 2 = BFN
1/11 - Voluntary Break = BFN (duh)
2/11 - Clomid Round 3 = BFN
3/11 - Femara + IUI = BFP * Beta#1=56 * Beta#2=266
*Cautiously expecting baby girls on November 28, 2011*
Congrats ladies!
Got my fancy maternity belt, not the most comfy thing but it will do. I go to MFM again this Friday so i will have a better update next week.
QOTW: I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to SAH! BUT...I will be returning to work, it makes more sense financially. We have 2 friends who do daycare...going rate about $120 a week X2= $960 per month! OUCH!
Prayers to Glow, SLPMel and LaneCA. Congrats to Sept2007 and Loloindiego!
Updates: MFM appt on Mon was great. Growth u/s next Fri 7/1. He said I have a rock star cervix-lol! Length is still over 5. Still having m/s, kind of tired some days but other than that I can't complain. Names: Hunter William and Caroline Mae for sure-still trying to decide on another girl name. We can't agree on anything! My DH's suggestions are terrible..I told him I think he only likes old lady names!
QOTW: Going back to work probably in Feb but I can take longer if I need to. Plan is to get a nanny. I have heard from friends going rate is $15-20 p/h. Ugh!
Congratulations to those welcoming their babies to the outside world.
No updates from me. We go back to the dr a week from Friday. This is the longest we've gone without an u/s since finding out I'm pg--a whole 3 weeks! It's a difficult wait. We can't wait until next Friday.
QOTW: I would love to not work, but we definitely can't afford it. We finally settled on a daycare near where I work. They gave us a discount of $250/wk/baby. So.. yeah, that's at least $2000 a month. Ugh, I hate money. But at least it keeps us from having to ask the ILs to take care of the baby. No way that is ever happening.
TTC since 5/10
Dx: PCOS 12/10
IUI #1 (2/11/11): Metformin + Clomid + Ovidrel = BFN
IUI #2 (3/13/11): Metformin + Gonal-F + Ovidrel = BFP
Beta #1 (15dpo) 460, Beta #2 (17dpo) 829, Beta #3 (19dpo) 1550 u/s #1 (4/12/11): Twins!
Updates: I am a teacher and just finished school today. Thank goodness. I have been a little whiny recently and couldn't take much more work. Lab stools and being on my feet too much have just made everything hurt and my ankles are a swollen mess.
As of last MFM appt., I have almost 3 lb. babies that are doing really well. My cervix shortened from 5 cm to 4 cm because of the pressure, but still rockin out for this far along. Passed my GD one hour test and will be going to the OB every 2 weeks now. My Csection (I have to repeat due to endo adhesions and scarring) will be during the week of Aug. 22.
QOTW: Daycare is a problem right now. The center that my DD is in wants $952/week for all 3 of them, which is impossible. A center closer to my school will take the 2, if space, for 500/week. Not much better, but a little. We will not be moving DD since she is 4 and only has one more year of daycare before kindergarden. I am going to look at in home options, but it is too soon since I won't be putting the boys in daycare until January. We will have family help to fill the gap between my maternity leave and then.
Hugs and good luck to all. Congrats to the recent births!
Update: Still feeling pretty good, but I get dizzy occasionally. My first OB apt last week I only met with the nurse. They took blood and urine sample. I go back this Friday to meet with the OB and they said they'd go over my test results. I had two u/s at the RE, but none yet at the OB. The RE was concerned about vanishing twin, so I hope there is still 2 in there.
QOTW: After working almost 12 years in public accounting, my last day was April 18th. Dh got a new job and we moved from IL to Indy. Our deal was that if IVF 3 worked, I could be a SAHW and then SAHM for a couple years, so that's what I am. Otherwise, I would have got a new job if we got a BFN.
IVF #1 w ICSI in July 2010 = BFN

Update: Sorry ladies...I am one of the MIAs
My beautiful twins were born at 32w, 5d on March 23rd. My son weighed in at 3lbs., 11oz., and my little lady weighed in at 4lbs., 15 oz. My water broke at 32 w, 1d and I was immediately admitted to the high risk maternity ward. Thankfully, I was not dilated and my contractions were erratic and weak at that point. I was given steroid shots and medicine to ward off any impending labor. I managed to make it a full four days before my body went into full blown labor. I literally went from feeling minor contractions to full on contractions that were two minutes apart in about two hours. I delivered on the evening of March 23rd and my twins went immediately to the NICU. Both were on the CPAP (non-intubation breathing assitance) for about 24 hours just to help them breath easier. After that, they required no major assistance. My son spent 30 days in the NICU and my daughter spent 24 days there with no major complications. The just needed to learn to eat and grow.
They will be 3 months old tomorrow and both weigh about 11.5 pounds!! They are as healthy as can!
I lurk from time to time still and am cheering all of you wonderful ladies on...you are always in my thoughts and prayers!!
T&P to everyone who needs them and CONGRATS to the new moms!!
QOTW: I will go back part-time as a Postpartum nurse 3-11. Ill work 3 days a week. My mom will watch my DS and the twins. Thank goodness for family!! Theres NO WAY i could afford daycare!
Im 32 weeks today!! I go for a growth scan tomorrow. Im so thankful everything has gone well this pregnancy. Hoping to hold out for at least 4 more weeks. Im def counting down since im pretty uncomfortable!
Congrats new mommas!!! I am so happy for you guys and hope you are doing well! kghotty thanks for the update! I am so glad your little babies are home and healthy - that sounds scary and stressful to have them in the NICU like that!
Update: After my a/s last week I feel mentally a little more comfortable letting my guard down more. I even feel like we made progress this week - the nursery furniture was picked out/ordered and came in already! We still need to pick it up... but it's here! And I think i picked out the bedding I will get. clicky link pic below! We have maybe decided on one name.. now just one more to go! (i am quite indecisive so all these things being decided feels like major progress to me!)
AND... best of all I have been feeling these little monsters kicking like crazy all and DH felt them for the first time last night!!! We even laid there and saw my belly and shirt moving from the outside while Baby B was having himself a little party
Mostly I feel so incredibly grateful and blessed to be where I am and I just hope and pray my IFV sisters can get their butts over here too.
QOTW: Gosh SAHM would be nice huh? if only money grew on trees... I dont know what we are gunna do... I am getting kinda stressed about it. The dc that my DD goes to would be $661/week for all 3.
Not gunna happen... I called another one today that i heard was great but cheaper and even more so if you become a member of their church... I think it was $584/week and $467 if you join the church. (plus they have other perks my current dc doesnt have) However, they dont have any infant spots until 1 in April 2012 and another in June 2012.
So... I really hope I can find a nanny for $500/wk or less. Even then I dont really know how we are going to make that happen. I am thinking about seeing if work will let us each work 4 days/week and then we will take diff days off and then only need care for 3 days a week. The problem then is we need care for longer hours on those 3 days and that might be harder on all of us to work 10 hour days. Maybe i can just work PT 32 hours a week... I dunno I clearly dont have it figured out!
iui #5 2/7 + 2/8 = BFP!! 11 dpiui
Beta #1 2/18 11dpiui= 46, Beta #2 13dpiui 150, Beta #3 16dpiui 584!!
u/s revealed triplets! Baby B 3rd loss 8w2d. Twins! EDD 10/31/11 * c/s scheduled 10/12/11 My NEW BLOG
Thanks everybody! T & P to everybody else who needs it and congratulations to all the new mommas!
QOTW: I would love to work part time-and while it may not be possible next school year, there is a HUGE possibility it could happen the following. We really need me to work for health insurance, because DH's has a HUGE deductible (like $3000 before they'll cover anything) and with two babies, that scares me. I've actually had a few parents/assistants offer to nanny when I go back to work. We are seriously thinking about one of the offers, and it would save us a lot of money, and we wouldn't have to pay over the summer. We are guessing it'll be around $300 a week. We'll drop them off at her house, and she's within walking distance of my school. She's a great mom, and has raised a special needs baby, so I have no doubt that she could handle our two! It will also work out if we only need three days next school year, because I wouldn't have to struggle to find P/T day care.
Congrats to September, Lolo AND Lane on the good news!
Big hugs to Glow and SLPMel.
Update: MFM says babies are looking good and growing right on schedule. I have an OB appt next week and the one hour glucose test which I'm not looking forward to. I'm also off to the endo again b/c my thyroid is still hyper. And just b/c I love Drs appts I'm going to the Dentist today and really concerned about the potential for major blood loss. Brushing my teeth lately is not pleasant.
QOTD: We are still debating names with no clear winner in sight. I've got to go back to work but am hoping to be off until Jan. I'm on the waiting list at a great daycare near me but probably won't get in until the babies are closer to 1 so we'll hire a nanny until then - probably about $2400 a month...ouch!
I had my NT scan on Tuesday and everything looked good. I have to wait about a week for the blood work results. The tech guessed that the babies were 2 girls but said don?t go painting the nursery yet. I have to wait until August 8th for my anatomy scan.
I will most likely take 6 months off and go back to work. My MIL & FIL are retired and are very excited to watch the babies. I think after they are a year or so we will put them in daycare at least part time to give the grandparents a break!
Sorry, sorry, sorry!! I knew I was forgetting to update someone. Last Friday's appt. went significantly better than the week prior's. The cyst shrank a good bit within the one week period on indentical Baby A. Identical Baby B looks perfect, nose bone and all, so chances of genetic defects are significantly decreased. There's a still a good chance for TTTS, but at least something can be done if things are looking that way since I'm being monitored so closely. Fraternal Baby C looks text book perfect and measuring about a week ahead.
I've come to the conclusion that I just can't take my doctor's fear mongoring anymore. I know they're preparing me for the worst and hoping for the best, but I've reached the end of my rope with this. Things are going to be fine because I need them to be fine. Me stressing out over the "what if's" can't possibly do any good. Therefore, I will be positive and believe that my babies will be the fat happy children I always see in my mind.
QOTW: I am exceptionally lucky. I work at home for myself (my husband and I do websites. He still has a regular job though too with great benefits). We've hired outside help that do the tedious tasks, while I handle customers and general maintenence issues.
Can't believe I'm so close to the top of the list! My c-section is scheduled for 7/11 since both babies are transverse. They've both been measuring big and at my last appointment my doctor wasn't sure I'd make it to my 38w c/s date.
We are getting so excited to meet our little bundles!
Lots of love to everyone!
Update: Had a 3 day visit to L&D last Thurs-Sat. Was having contrax Thurs night and they wanted to make sure they weren't progressing me. I am 1cm and 0 effaced...no change after monitoring for an hour. But they kept me because they gave me the steroids for the babies lungs and also had me do a 24hr urine collect to rule out PreE. Home now on modified bedrest, needing full day help because I can't lift DD, and do much else that get up for meals/bathroom. Next appt is Monday, so we'll see where we stand there. I just pray I make it that far...as I'm still contracting, but I won't call unless they become painful or unless anything else happens that could mean real labor. Basically my ute is saying "Um. Hello. Too much stretching...I'm not budging!!"
QOTW: SAHM now, and continuing til the kids are all in school!
so 6 years down the road I'll go back into subbing in Elementary schools and hopefully find a FT position!
