Waxing

Hi Ladies,

I am pretty new to the group, entering cautiously. I have a Brazilian wax appointment scheduled for today. I am exactly 5 weeks today. Is anyone else out there planning on waxing during pregnancy? Do you think it is safe at this point? I do know it is supposed to hurt way more, though!

Thanks for your input!

Re: Waxing

  • Welcome to the board!  To my knowledge, there is no reason why you couldn't get waxed.  You will definitely be more sensitive, so it may be more painful than normal.  I know a lot of women in 3rd tri who get waxed just because they can't see what they're doing down there, so I wouldn't see why you couldn't do it now.  Good luck!

  • I regularly have wax appts and I have one next week since getting my BFP, I'm planning to still go and hopefully keep up with my appts until I can't stand the pain since they say you are more sensitive when pregnant.

I have read numerous things saying it is completely safe and not harmful to baby.  I plan on telling my esthetician that I'm pregnant when I see her next week.

    Congrats on your BFP!

  • I want to wax while I'm pregnant. It would be so much easier. But the last time (also the 1st time) I went, it was so painful and unpleasant I don't know if I could tolerate it while pregnant.

  • I will continue to get waxed.  Went a couple of days ago (in fact) & there wos no difference in sensitivity for me yet.

  • Waxing is fine, just no tendskin after or between waxing. It has acetylsalicylate (aspirin) in it and may be absorbed into the skin.
