I think I've mentioned before that I'm planning to quit working end of august to be a SAHM...
Well, I took Simon in to the doc today for a recheck of his ears. He's had 4 infections in 3 months, and the pedi said she would send him in for tube surgery now, but since I want to avoid that I have to be able to keep him infection free through the summer. Otherwise it's def tubes. I know it's a common surgery, but the thought of my 5-6 month old baby going under terrifies me.
So we've made the tough decision to go ahead and take him out of daycare now to give him a real chance of avoiding this, and I'll be giving my 2 weeks at work tomorrow. I'm so nervous I'm sick to my stomach. Hope all goes well.... Please think happy thoughts for us. ![]()
Re: T&P please...(not bad/sad)
Thank you so much!
Thank you! Yeah, that's what it came down to in the end. Family is first, and as a mother I have to do whatever it takes to provide the best for my kids. Another 2 months of working and income is not worth sacrificing Simon's health. I'd hate to look back and think I could have done something more but didn't, you know?
Thanks Ticket! Is it dumb that your one line got me teary eyed?
You're an awesome mama too, thank you.
Thank you so much, that makes me feel much better.
I just went and talked to my boss. I can't believe I'm really doing this! EEK!
Thinking good thoughts for you.
T & P
Thats ironnic because I am giving my two weeks notice at work tomorrow also!
If something happens and your LO ends up having the surgery I am sure your LO will do amazing. Jay had surgery the day he turned three weeks old. He was out for about 3 hours during the surgery. It was very scary but it seems like babies are so resilient. It is now like nothing has ever happened to him.
No matter what happens I wish you the best!
yes, but he's a happy spitter. None of that back arching and screaming at the bottle business, thank goodness! We've managed to keep in mostly under control with small frequent bottles. Why do you ask?
Oh how exciting! Best wishes for you and Jay and staying home! And thank you for sharing his surgery story, that does make me feel better. if it should end up he needs it, then he needs it, but at least I'll have tried my best.
These little guys really are tougher than we give them credit for sometimes!
Ignore the post above this. Not sure what happened. Is he on any medication for the reflux?
We tried prevacid for about a week but it was making him throw up. I know that sounds ridiculous since it's supposed to PREVENT that. If he spits up now it's just a burp and a tiny little gets in his mouth, doesn't even come out usually. On the prevacid though it was full on non-projectile throwing up. So we talked with his doctor and took him off it.
