I've been off the bump for awhile and just noticed this board. Hopefully our story can help some of you out.
My son was put on Zantac at 6 weeks and about a week later he developed green mucusy poop (which later progressed to bloody mucusy green poop). and eczema. and extreme fussiness. He was MISERABLE. I was miserable. It was declared a milk allergy since he was breastfed. So I cut out milk, no change. So then I cut out soy, no change. And then egg, and wheat, all nuts, seafood, peanuts, beef. I was only eating chicken, turkey, rice and veggies for 5 fcuking months. We saw multiple pedi GI docs, did bloodwork, did the RAST (.08 on peanut and seafood). One night while I was researching studies I came across one that talked about how stomach acid is needed for protein digestion. I pulled my son off Zantac and within a week all his symptoms cleared. So what I thought was allergies the whole time was actually a side effect of the reflux meds. Something to consider. Here is a post I wrote explaining the concept in depth and a link to the study: https://www.ourgrowinggarden.com/2011/02/total-elmination-diet-is-ovah.html
