Taco soup:
1lb ground chuck browned and drained
1 Pkg taco seasoning
prepare as directed on package
1 large can of black beans rinsed and drained
1 can kidney beans rinsed and drained
1 can whole kernal corn drained
1 can diced tomatoes juice and all
mix together and heat in microwave for 10-15 minutes before serving
serve in Tostido's scoops and garnish with shredded cheese, chopped green onions and sour cream per taste.
I LOVE Rosemary and Olive Oil Triscuits with cheese. They also have Black Pepper and Olive Oil that are delicious too.
Chips and salsa
Pre-cut veggies with ranch (or other dip like hummus)
A fun punch might Raspberry Apple Juice from Red Jacket Orchard and then throw in some club soda and sprite and some fresh raspberries.
OR
I found this that I think looks refreshing and yummy

ETA: A nice french baguette (or other tasty fresh bread) with good olive oil and balsamic to dip it in.
OH! and I forgot my favorite! I take a container or two of grape tomatoes, slice them in half, add a bunch of fresh basil (I cut it in thin strips or with scissors for speed), and fresh mozzerella torn in small pieces about the size of the tomatoes. Cover in a good glug of balsamic and olive oil and plenty of salt and pepper. The cheese turns brown from the balsamic, but the taste....YUMMMMMM.
OR you could take the tomatoes and basil, add a bit of garlic and put it on toasted slices of baguette for some bruschetta.

I love party planning! For something easy, what about some smoked salmon and some feta cheese and some fancy crackers. Stick a couple types of olives in a dish near it and some grapes/chopped up fruit and you're good to go. A festive non-alcoholic drink that I love is cherry lemonade.
https://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Best-Lemonade-Ever/Detail.aspx
And I take out a little of the sugar (about 1/4 of a cup) syrup and replace it with marischino (sp?) cherry juice or grenadine. Add a cherry and you're done, so good. If you wanted to be extra fancy, you can wet the rims of the glasses and dip them in sugar, but I'm usually not so fancy.
Have fun! What book are you reading?
thanks for the tips, i just wrote this on pad and put it in my purse! w/ the artichoke bread recipe.
we read Sunset Park by paul Auster.

I love snacks with some sort of cream cheese base...
Like sweet pepper jelly over a block of cream cheese (serve with crackers or triscuts), or good seasons mixed in with cream cheese and sour creme (served with pretzels). I'm sure if you look at the Kraft website you could probably find 10 different items to make in 10 minutes or less.
I love dips. LOVE. I could exist on them.
I have no drink suggestions as I'm either a water or wine drinker!
sounds like fun! i love sunset park, it's a fun neighborhood. i'm interested in reading the book now...
food/drink ideas:
sparkling lemonade: two or three little cans of pineapple juice + 1 thawed can of frozen lemonade + 1 bottle of sparkling water added right before serving (people can add vodka if they'd like)- i usually do this in a big pitcher.
seven layer dip, artichoke dip or just a big board with meats/cheeses/olives/crackers

Dip, some pre-made cookies, and some wine are some of suggestions.
Because of the great "Snow"vember of 2015, my medicated cycle was cancelled. However, we were blessed with our little rainbow baby due on 8/14/15! Baby J had other plans and decided to make his grand ole entrance on 7/4/2015!
Surprise! Our little girl entered this world on 12/8/2016 after her eviction notice was long past due. Our little turkey baby turned into a snow baby!
I love you even more, now that I know you're a dip lover!!
