Baby Showers

Need some help with a baby shower

I am hosting SIL's baby shower for baby #1 in 3 weeks. My plan since it is 100 degrees here in CA, is doing a light lunch with fruit salads, green salad, biscuits with light spreads and a couple different teas, lemonades and water.

I was thinking of getting some misc china tea cups (nice ones) from some discount places giving those away as the favors. I saw a bunch yesterday at Goodwill.  I wanted to put a tag on them with ribbon but I cannot thing of cute thing to say on the tag. I haven't bought the cups yet so if you have any other ideas, feel free to suggest them too.

Any help is appreciated! TIA!

I once got a tea favor at a baby shower that said "A Baby is Brewing." Not sure that's my style, but it's an idea.

Not a fan of that honestly. It sounds like I am cooking a baby. I thought of "A tea-lightful thank you from Baby Connor and his Mommy". Not sure if I am gonna go with that either. I may just stick them in cellophane with ribbon and call it good.

  • Hmm... thinking of "cute" words you could use to play on tea... like "beau-tea-ful baby boy" or "tea-ny tiny arrival"...

Put a tea bag in each saucer and wrap it in cellophane (you can get a box of 100 tea bags for like $4 at the grocery store).

  • I like the idea of just wrapping them in cellophane with a tea bag inside.

You could get a little "thank you" tag to stick on it since they are the favors.

    Something like this (From Michaels):

  • Honestly, I wouldn't do the tea cups because no one really wants one random tea cup, that's the kind of thing you would want in a set.  If you could find pretty mugs, that would be better.  I think it would be nice if you could find nice boxes or bags of speciality teas and give those out or little bags of macaroons or madelines.  People always love getting food as opposed to a chatchka.
