When I was nearing the end of my pregnancy with H, DH and I decided to sponsor a soldier for a few months. We sent him 3 different care packages through Jan-March. We hadn't heard anything from him, until this past week. In the past 5 days we received a beautiful letter, he friend-ed me on FB, yesterday he sent my family flowers and today he messaged me on FB thanking us again and asking me if he could keep in touch with our family. He mentioned again how grateful he was for our support the past few months and how we helped him get through some of the hardest times of his life.
Is this normal? Or no? I guess the fact that there has been so much correspondence in such a short period of time that is throwing me off a little. I am not quite sure why I have my guard up-he seems like a really wonderful person.
What do you all think?
Is it similar to the relationship we have here on the boards?
no flames please...
Re: need advice-military/"stranger" related
I would guess he wasn't able to write back prior (that makes sense to me) and now he can. You can tell by his FB if he's a stand-up guy, I say. Keep it "professional" and get out at any weird signs, just like you would with anyone else on the wide webz!
ps - very sweet thing for you to have done!
