(NBR) Green smoothies :-)

I decided to start myself on a 30-day green smoothie challenge. Basically, I'm going to have a green smoothie for breakfast every day for 30 days and see if I feel more energy, detoxed, etc. I figure, it can't hurt since everything in a green smoothie is healthy, right?

Basically, what you do is try to have 40% greens and 60% fruits in your smoothie. Today's smoothie was: Kale, Strawberries, Frozen Peaches, a dash of orange juice, and some seltzer water.

Here are some recipe ideas if you want to give it a try:

I feel like I'm having so much trouble making it to the gym consistently now that Liam's here, but I'm doing a pretty good job at taking walks while babywearing, so I'm trying to focus more on healthy eating than ever before. Just thought I'd share if anyone else was looking for ideas.

  • That actually doesn't sound too bad. How did it taste? Thanks for the recipes! DH and I love to make smoothies!

  • It actually tasted really good. I think it would have been better if I had a high-power blender (I have a normal $20 Hamilton Beach blender). So, there were little chunks of kale in it, unlike what they look like on the recipe pages, but it was still super good :-) You're welcome!

Ok, so I really want to try these but they freak me out.  Does it really taste like a smoothie?  I like dark greens, but the thought of drinking them kinda gives me the willies.
