When I read about people getting all butthurt because their neighbors don't rake their leaves, or have unsightly crab grass or dandelions in the lawn, or what have you.
We mow when we have time, we never rake leaves, and I think dandelions are pretty. I don't care what my neighbors think. We also live in the country with one close neighbor. I'm just glad I'm not living next to YOU.
Re: Sometimes I feel like a turdball on here.
Lol it's a fine line. We live in the City and it drives me crazy when people park directly in front of our front walkway or don't clean up their trash areas (it then blows into our yard) or steal our trash can lids.
But then H doesn't always mow our yard or trim the hedges or rake as often as he should so oh well.
This is why I don't ever plan on living in a neighborhood. I've never gone three weeks without mowing but dandelions just aren't a big deal to me. I like my country living with no lawn pressure.
Negative ghost rider.
In normal circumstances I agree - we bought in this neighborhood to protect our investment. But I will say that we havent been good about it lately, and the house next door finally sold - crab grass and all after months of good landscaping.

I have nothing to contribute, but that is so funny you say that. I have never heard anyone say that before besides my husband. He says it all the time.
This is the one reason I am happy I live in the city with no grass of my own to care for.
However I am usually the one on the block with the decorations up forever, for the wrong holiday and with the dead plant out front because I haven't the best green thumb.
As much as I would love to live away from the city, I do not look forward to all the lawn and outside care would include.
OH! And you could milk said goats as well. Lower your grocery bill. BONUS!
Yep, me too. Our neighbors across the street have cars in various states of disrepair stretching all the way down the block. Their garage is full to the brim with garbage and they have pickup truck bed covers and other bullshiz up on blocks half painted all over their lawn. To my knowledge they have never mowed the lawn in the 4+ years that we've lived across the street from them. The brown christmas wreath on their front door has seen 3 christmases so far. We live in a lake community and are required to pay dues on top of our property tax. We take care of our house and are proud of it. Our yard looks nice, and it sucks to have people come over and have to drive over their tools that they leave all over the street. PLUS, the dad works in a factory somewhere and he's constantly bringing home stray cats and letting them run loose in the neighborhood.
I think it's incredibly rude to not take at least basic care of the outside of your home if you have neighbors in close proximity. If you're out in the country, go for it.
Meh. We take care of our yard. We'd really appreciate if our neighbor would, too. We have to rake leaves - we have a bunch of trees in our yard.
