This might be of interest to you! I love just looking at the numbers....I have posted it a few times since May and have over 500 votes! It gives me false hope that i might still go early
I asked my doctor at my last appointment how my dilation at this point compared to with #1- and I'm at exactly the same- so maybe I've only got another 1.5 weeks to go! Crazy!

That's great! There's a lot in the 38/39w group, but part of me wonders how much of that is scheduled inductions/c-secs since that would be a prime week for if if people had placenta previa and what not... I'm still hoping LO decicdes to arrive just a tad early. I'm due 7/1 or 6/28 depending on which of my OB's you talk to (7/1 based on LMP, 6/28 based on early u/s).

Good point on the C-secs, i didn't even think about that. I'm due July 2nd and I'm getting so anxious and uncomfortable. July can not get here soon enough!
From July 2010: Once I hit 37 weeks and knew LO was full-term and healthy, I was done being miserable so DH and I did a little research... I ended up eating homemade labor cookies (basically spicy ginger snaps), eating pineapple, doing acupressure points, and "convincing" DH that we needed to have sex more often. A few days after trying all these things my water broke. Now I have no idea if my water would have broken anyway, but I least I felt like I was trying something!

Just read your labor story- Avelin my #1 girl name right now (although spelled Aibhlin, which is the gaelic version). Love it- and she's adorable!
So awesome to hear another Avelin may be on her way! We had no idea about the Gaelic version until months after she was born. It wasn't even in our top three, but just 'fit" when she got here.
I'm a July '10 mom. I tried EVERYTHING to go into labor, I had my MIL rub my feet for an hour hitting the pressure points I got contractions but I never went into labor. I even tried a green peper from papa johns filled with hotsauce. nothing but we throwing it all up. My due date was July 8th and it came and went I was induced on the 16th and that is when my son was born!
I know you ladies are feeling pretty rotten being so pregnant but trust me you will miss it! Savor every kick and turn that you feel and know that right now only you get these special moments with your LO. Soon you will have to share him/her and you will miss all of those special moments! Good luck! and welcome to mommyhood!
When I see your face
There's not a thing that I would change
Cause you're amazing
Just the way you are
And when you smile,
The whole world stops and stares for awhile

I am July 10 mom. I had LO at 37 weeks. I had been hospitalized since 35 weeks for low fluid. They wanted to wait until 37 weeks minimum. As soon as we hit that milestone, the OB came to me and said, "We can do this two ways- 1) we can induce you, have you go through labor and then have to eventually do a c-section or 2) we can go ahead and schedule a c-section for today. I went with Plan 2. It was a lot less traumatic for LO. So I never went into labor!
July 2010 mom: DD was born 7 minutes past her due date. We didn't do anything to induce her except we had sex the day before my due date (7/8). About 3 hours later contractions started and I gave birth just after midnight the following morning (7/10).
ITA with elaughlin. As much as it royally sucks to be pregnant in the summer and you are so done with it, you do miss it. Try to enjoy what you have now and know that you won't be pregnant forever. That baby has got to come out!
Visiting from July 2010: I had to be induced, waited as long as possible. My due date was July 15 and I went in for an induction on July 21, DS was born July 22. I was 0%, 0cm right up to my induction.I have to say that as much as I hated having to be induced, it went perfectly, vaginal birth and all. And I tried EVERYTHING to get that baby out, pineapple, spicy food, Chinese food, sex, vigorous walking, etc. and nothing worked except for induction.
I remember how I was so done being huge and uncomfortable and pregnant and ready to get the baby out at the time...and now it seems like it all went so quickly and here we are planning 1st birthdays! Enjoy what is left as much as you can ladies! Go swimming!
Another July '10 mom here! Atticus was born 3 days after his due date. Those last few weeks seemed to really drag on, but I really loved being pregnant.

DD came 5 days before her due date. There was a full moon the Saturday before my due date. My mom declared the baby was coming on Saturday, so she and my dad flew into Atlanta from New Mexico to be here. Spent all day Saturday with my sister and my parents chasing around my nephew. My water broker at 2am Sunday morning and DD was born at 4pm that afternoon. I was due July 2 and she was born June 27. We were team green and I told her if she was a girl to hold out for July because it is a much better birthstone, but she didn't listen.
Sorry so long. I am getting a little nostalgic with there only being 4 days until her birthday and 2 days until her party.
I love questions from July 2011. Keep them coming. It is like we are passing the baby torch as our babies become toddlers.

DS was born at 40w4d, on his own. I told myself since the beginning that he was going to come late and I was even thinking he might hold out for my b-day (1 week after). That way, I wasn't anxious at 38w, 39w or even 40w when he hadn't come yet. Plus he was breech, so I kept doing everything possible to get him to turn!
Okay you guys I am totally crying reading this thread because I can't believe a year ago this was us. I am going to be a bawling mess on his birthday. I never thought I would be like this!
I chose 40th week, basically I was induced though. My water broke on its own at 40w5d but nothing else ever happened so I went through the whole pitocin deal. Had him 28 hours later at 40w6d.
I was induced at 41 weeks and 3 days wirh pitocin. He just wasn't ready. Even then, it took 20 hours of labor and 3 hours of pushing to get this stubborn little man to join us. Best of labor luck, ladies! I feel for you during these hot summer days!
July 2010 Mom here: DD was born the day before her due date and I went into labor naturally 2 days before her due date (yes, I had a long labor). I convinced myself I was going to be a week late so I was pleasantly surprised when I was in labor....I also didn't believe I was actually in labor but that's another story.
Good luck mamas!! Enjoy the last of the pregnancy as much as you can. Life will change but only for the better in the coming months for you and a year from now you won't believe your baby is about to turn 1!
Re: CPW: BTDT moms- when did your first arrive?
Good poll! Having hit 35/35 today I'm suddenly VERY interested in this. We should ask July 2010 about this, as well.
Good call- can you x-post without re-doing the whole thing? Maybe I'll just post a link on theirs to our board and get it into one result...

I went in for an NST at 40w1d and didn't get to leave the hospital due to low fluid. So my advice is have your bags packed if you end up like me!
Here's my labor story:

He was born at exactly 40 weeks, but I was induced so I don't think that really "counts."
ETA: Oops, I didn't see the "induced" option and I chose the 40th week.

From a July 2010
I was due July 24
Failed induction on July 27
C-section on August 2nd, due to DD being breech

Dropping by from July '10
EDD was July 11th, but LO held out until 40w5d. I went into labor on my own a little after midnight on July 16th, and DS was born at 10:25am.
