Food Allergy

Talk to me about Elimination Diets

I thought LO was sensitive to dairy. I went dairy free, and noticed some improvement in this reflux. But, weeks later he is still spitting up alot. I have stayed away from all hidden dairy as well. Now he has eczema, predominately on his tummy. Im convinced there is a food allergy, so I want to try an elimination diet. Do you eliminate all the possible culprits at once, then slowly add food back in, or eliminate a food/week and watch for improvement? What are the major fod culprits. Thanks!

Re: Talk to me about Elimination Diets

  • I would eliminate the top 8 from your diet for two weeks and then re-add one at a time every 2 weeks.  that's what many people do.. some do every 1 week.

top 8 - milk, soy, wheat, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shell fish.  I would also avoid sesame.

but make sure that includes casein also.

    hope that works.

  • Exactly what magdusia said. Also, egg/egg white was the major eczema culprit for us.
