My random thought post

1. I haven't posted here in ages and it's all due to facebook

2. I get a thrill out of bargain shopping, seriously, my blood starts pumping. Nerd? I'll let you be the judge ;P

3. The older I get, the more I hate summer

4. When I go grocery shopping, I always have a child with me, most of the times both of them. Our Kroger has samples coming out of our ears every day and I fill them up shamelessly when we go. When I took them last week one or both of them had: watermelon, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, orange slice, melon, peach, carrot, veggie straws, mini sandwich, cheese, bread, + pita chip. Food= Happy kids + sane mommy. I'll even make a second round if needed. Who needs lunch when you've got Kroger?

5. Ben eats too many lunchables. I know they are awful but I'd be lying if I didn't say I love the convienience of them. I do add carrots and a fruit (usually blueberries) but still.

6. Nathan is still waking up 3x a night. Despite that fact, I can never seem to go to sleep at a reasonable hour and curse myself in the morning.

7. I gained 10 lbs since Easter and I'm in a panic to un-do that mess. I blame Nathan dropping sessions :/

8. DH has a man cold. Need I say more?

9. I find myself repeating words several times in my facebook comments/statuses. When I re-read it, I look like a dumbass. I blame the tiny phone screen.

10. I have a salted caramel addiction (see number 7)

11. Some stuff I HAVE to buy organic and other stuff I could care less. Theres no rhyme or reason, it's just habit.

12. I'm stuck between doing my regular party planning gig for Nathans 1st birthday and tossing the whole idea out the window for something super simple. I can't seem to commit to the latter :/

13. Reading back on this post, I place blame on a lot of things that aren't me =P

(ETA) 14. We don't have the money but I'm trying to convince DH that we NEEEEED a front loading washer + dryer. Ours are basic cheapies but only a few years old. Despite that, our washer does an awful job and the dryer can't be left to it's devices or else it dries our clothes for 15 hours. We can live with the ones we have but I don't want to. Totally irrational.

That is all.

P.S. Feel free to add your own :)

    1. I haven't posted here in ages and it's all due to facebook  FB is my choice place to post, too.  I am trying to seriously cut back on there.

    2. I get a thrill out of bargain shopping, seriously, my blood starts pumping. Nerd? I'll let you be the judge ;P  Go you!  I hardly ever pay full price for anything these days.  I thrive on that.  I get giddy when I pull off an extreme couponing adventure that gets us stuff we actually use.  I can see how easy it would be to buy stuff you don't need in the name of savings, so I keep my couponing to just what we would normally buy.  It's fun!

    3. The older I get, the more I hate summer  I love summer and wish it would finally set in here.  Done with the rain and cool temps already.  Bring me some hot and dry!

DD knows exactly where the samples are in Kroger, and asks for them by name.  I am very guilty of using them as a free snack shop while I get groceries.  I blame DH who samples everything, and taught her the way.  Same goes for Sams and Costco.

    5. Ben eats too many lunchables. I know they are awful but I'd be lying if I didn't say I love the convienience of them. I do add carrots and a fruit (usually blueberries) but still.  DD eats too much mac and cheese, pasta, and chicken nuggets.  They ARE kid foods, right?  She eats tons of fruit daily.  I would like to think fruit cancels out the junky stuff.  No guilt.  They need protein.

    6. Nathan is still waking up 3x a night. Despite that fact, I can never seem to go to sleep at a reasonable hour and curse myself in the morning.  Urrgh!  But it is so stinking easy to stay up late, have me time, and do whatever needs doing in peace!

    7. I gained 10 lbs since Easter and I'm in a panic to un-do that mess. I blame Nathan dropping sessions :/  I am not discussing weight gain.  I need to run!

    8. DH has a man cold. Need I say more?  I am so sorry.  You poor thing.  Can I bring you anything to help you maintain your sanity?  This too shall pass.

    9. I find myself repeating words several times in my facebook comments/statuses. When I re-read it, I look like a dumbass. I blame the tiny phone screen.  Meh.  I don't think people notice specifics over there.  It is information overload, with new updates from friends every second.  See my reply in #1.

    10. I have a salted caramel addiction (see number 7)  Never had it, but I love caramel, so I reaalllly do not need to try that or I will be seeing another #7 myself.

    11. Some stuff I HAVE to buy organic and other stuff I could care less. Theres no rhyme or reason, it's just habit.  Here too.  Organic bananas taste like heaven!  So different from regular ones.  Not dirty dozen, but I will pay more for those every time.

    12. I'm stuck between doing my regular party planning gig for Nathans 1st birthday and tossing the whole idea out the window for something super simple. I can't seem to commit to the latter :/  Go easy on yourself while he does not have input or an opinion.  You have many years of big parties with child directed themes and components.  I vote for making it as easy and enjoyable for you as you possibly can while he is young.

    13. Reading back on this post, I place blame on a lot of things that aren't me =P

    Surprise

(ETA) 14. We don't have the money but I'm trying to convince DH that we NEEEEED a front loading washer + dryer. Ours are basic cheapies but only a few years old. Totally irrational.

Once you do it, you will be the happiest laundry washer ever.  We had hour and a half long dries with the old dryer.  With the front loaders, it is 30 minutes for a very large load of towels.  LOVE.  Never going back.  Money well spent IMO.  Time is valuable!

    That is all.

  • Totally feel ya on #s 2 & 3

    So sorry about #8

re: #9 - I love that I can FB from my phone, but hate the tiny phone screen, and a few other minor issues

re: #11 - I was like that too. When I was buying anything organic. Then my budget won out. I sat in Kroger last night contemplating the cost of organic spaghetti sauce (which I used to get) versus regular. I think it was around $1.75 more per jar. Nope. Didn't get it.

re: #12 - kinda in the same place for DD's 3rd. We went all out for her 1st, did super-simple for her 2nd. Not sure what direction I'm gonne go in for her 3rd.

re: #14 - well... it sounds like maybe your dryer might crap out on you soon, right? Maybe? Can we hope for that? When our washer died, I really wanted a new set (because they have to match, hello minor OCD tendency), but it wasn't in our budget. But... we ended up finding a display model at HH Gregg and got the set (front-loader), including pedestals for only around $100 more than we had budgeted for a washer. So... for your sake I'm hoping your dryer dies and you guys find the same sort of deal. Wink

BTW - I love when people do random update posts. I should really do one of my own sometime.

    Have a great day!

    Smile
