I'd like to have an unmedicated birth, but I am a total wuss, so I don't think I'll make it.
Ugh, I meant to reply : Girl! If you wanna do it then you can! I'm really liking 2 books right now that are pretty empowering; Birthing From Within and Active Birthing.
I ended up with a C-Section with DD, and I've been back and forth this pregnancy on whether or not to have a repeat CS or try for a VBAC. I think I've decided to just go with the repeat CS, so I voted for "Elective CS"

I will need to be induced by 39 weeks due to GD. That being said I was induced at 38 weeks with DD due to GD and pre-e. I had a very quick labor with an unfavorable cervix so I am keeping in the back of my mind if I go in to labor on my own I may not be able to get an epi.

I agree. I went natural with my son too and plan to for this one as well. Don't get me wrong: there was a time at 9.5 cm that I was begging for drugs, but thankfully the Dr. knew what I really wanted. (And I really only wanted it because I was so tired...not because of the pain)
I picked this..."whatever it takes to make the pain go away, I'll take it! and keep it coming!" but I dont think that accurately represents my choice to have an epidural. I have been in labor before and I know that there is no such thing as a painless birth. Even if you choose epidural, it often is not that simple. It takes the edge off and makes it bearable but no such thing as a pain free birth. Even with a C-Section.... I have heard that is pretty darn uncomfortable too.

i'm either having a c/s b/c i had a c/s in the past and my hospital really doesn't allow vbacs. However, if i go into the hospital in labor they will allow me to vbac as long as it's on or before my due date. If i go past my due date it's a C. (
If i get to vbac i'm having an epi. I've experienced going all the way to 10cm dilated w/o even a tylenol and i don't care to do it again.

My small hospital can't do epidurals so I don't have a choice. If it means anything, I'm going to the same place with the same OB knowing what I already know from giving birth just last year.
I have had two unmedicated labors already so kinda hoping to do that again but I am leaving the option open for some meds.

I am high risk due to a blood clotting disorder so I will have to be induced at 38 weeks, other than the induction meds I am hoping to go me free. I have actually been talking to my doctors about allowing me to go into labor naturally. DH doesn't like the idea - he thinks we should just do what the doctors tell us we should, but I want to try to have this baby the old fashion way
Plus the idea of sitting in a room while I wait for labor to start does not excite me at all.

Our family of 5 is complete!! Love our boys!
I seriously read this as "an uneducated birth" and my eyebrows shot through the roof of my living room.
Ha ha! No, I'm definitely educating myself on birthing options.
