Hello, I am new here and I just had a question about LO having a lactose intolerence. I mostly breastfeed and had to cut out dairy and that helped him greatly! He was having majory tummy aches and gas problems. He still gets tummy aches sometimes, but he is so much better. I was always told it is just colic. I have started to do some more research and am going to speak to the pedi about reflux and lactose intolerence next. We feed him Good Start Protect ocassionally as a supplement but I was wondering, should I switch to the Good Start Soy and see if that helps his tummy at all? Or, is JUST tummy problems not a sign of a dairy issue?
Thanks!
Re: Question about lactose intolerence
Colic is a symptom, not a diagnosis. It just means they don't know why he's crying.
If you think that dairy is the problem, it's worth a shot to switch formula and see if it helps. My GI told me that 60% of babies with a dairy problem also have issues with soy, so just be prepared for new formula not automatically fixing the problem.
Good luck!
This - DD didn't tolerate dairy or soy formulas.
