Natural birth and kaiser?

Hello Ladies! 

I was wondering if any of you have had any experience with Kaiser and more specifically a natural birth? My H and I are ttc and I am a little lost with the new insurance and all that I have read makes it seem like Kaiser is horrible for natural births. I am looking to have a midwife and a water birth. Any information would help! Thanks!

    I would call Kaiser to see if they do water birth. I know Hoag does not.

    All my friends and family that have given birth there have had epidurals except one that had a c-section.

    I had a midwife and natural birth at Kaiser.  My hospital experience was really positive.  Water births were not an option though, but maybe each Kaiser hospital is different?  Kaiser has a really low C section rate too, when compared to other hospitals.

    I labored at mostly at home and showered/bathed while at home.

    Thanks for the info ladies. I am glad to hear a natural birth experience from kaiser since all I have heard lately has been negative.

    I am due in 10 days and will be delivering at Kaiser Anaheim. All of my interactions with the hospital, Dr.'s, Midwives, and NP's has indicated that they are natural birth friendly.

    I had a natural birth at Kaiser Irvine. There was some pressure from the nurse assigned to me while laboring to get an epidural, but I stood firm in my decision and did not get one. Overall, I would say it was a pretty positive experience, I loved my midwife, If you are in South OC I would recommend Deborah Maly-Ross as a midwife. Sorry I can't help in the water birth part, it wasn't anything I was really interested in. Good luck with the TTC! =)

    I had my daughter at Kaiser Irvine. I was induced and they were really open to to natural induction without medication. My experience was great. I went through three midwives and three nurses and all of them were really supportive of my wishes. Let me know of you have any other questions.

    I gave birth to my first at Kaiser- Irvine and I had an amazing experience. I really enjoyed everything Kaiser had to offer, from the doctor's appts, to classes, and especially the birth! My midwife at my visits was Deborah Maly-Ross and she was amazing, I felt so comfortable with her, she put up with all my repetitive questions and even helped me out once I wasnt a Kaiser member anymore. If it were up to me, I wouldve kept myself and my son on the Kaiser health care, but my plan was $500/month, my poor husband! However, Deborah Maly-Ross was not my delivering midwife, she must not have been on  call, and I cannot remember the name of the one that delivered for me but she was amazing as well. She kept me pumped and motivated to keep pushing for the 3 hours that it took!
