What are you LO's sleeping?

My Lo will be 2 months old tomorrow,  YIKES I can't believe it!  I feel as if she sleeps a lot!!  If I try to play too long with her, she freaks out until I hold her and she falls asleep.  Lately if she is put down she will lay there for a while wiht her eyes open and not always fall asleep.  She almost always falls asleep in my arms after being fed.  Typically her last feeding is around midnight and around 2:30 she will actually go down in the co-sleeper, if we put her in sooner she will freak out and not calm down.  She usually fusses for a while between 12 and 2:30 but will fall asleep and then we put her in co sleeper and she doesn't wake up again till around 7 or even sometimes 8.  should I be waking her?  What do you guys do?

Re: What are you LO's sleeping?

  • Our routine starts around 8:30, with a bath, Pjs and maybe a baby massage with lotion.

Feed around 9:30 or 10 when he asks for it, in his room, with darkness and quiet, maybe the fan is on. He falls asleep himself after we rock until drowsy.

Wakes around 3-4 for a feed, and goes back to sleep after some rocking and sushing.

    Wakes for good at 7am.

    This, exactly.

  • I feed him sometime between 9 and 10:30, then usually put him in his vibrating bouncer in his room. I go to bed in our room shortly after that and DH keeps an ear out. Usually LO is up around 1 or 2 am, then I move rooms and take him to bed with me there. Then we co-sleep until he annoys me with his wiggling - sometimes all night until 8 or 9, sometimes I put him back in the bouncer around 6 or 7.

He did spend his first 2 weeks in his crib and I do want to get him back there, but I'm not really in a hurry. I try it for naps and he gets very unhappy. I don't want to deal with that at night, so I don't.

  • I feed her at 7:30 (although tonight it was 8:30, we had a weird day) and do the PJs lotion, etc. then quiet time in the rocker with a lullaby or book.  She's in her crib asleep within the hour.

She usually wakes up at 11:30, I do a feed, change, reswaddle and I'm back in bed within 45-1 hour.  Then she wakes up around 3:30 or 4 and it takes me 30 minutes to feed her and put her back to bed.  She wakes around 7...eats, plays for a bit, goes back to sleep until 9.  Then we get up, bath, dress, start the day.

Last night she only woke up at 2 and 5 and went back down within 30 minutes both times, then woke up for good at 9.  That would be ideal for me, I felt like I got a TON of sleep.  But I'm not expecting it to happen again anytime soon!

  • We do bedtime starting at 7. Put on pjs and play on the floor for a little bit, then nursing, books, a couple songs, some rocking. I put her down in her crib before she falls asleep and she might fuss a little, but I give her the paci and she's usually asleep by 8pm. She usually wakes about 3 times during the night, around 11, 3 and 5 to eat and sometimes get a diaper change. She goes right back to sleep after nursing. Sometimes I take her into bed with me for the 5am feeding and keep her there until she gets up for the day around 8am.

  • 7:30/8pm - Feed and straight to sleep in her Snugabunny swing in the family room

10/11pm - still sleeping we take her upstairs with us to her pack n play in our room (stays asleep)

12a - we've been waking her for a feeding because she needs to gain weight... otherwise she'd sleep till 4a

4am - diaper change, feed, back to sleep in 30mins or less

7:30am - diaper change, feed, lay in our bed wiggling/up for the day

During the day she naps for 30 mins to 2+ hours at 9a, 12p, 3p,6p. We do bath in the AM because it riles her up and breaks up her longest awake period. We change her into jammies at the midnight feeding.
