Food Allergy

Are Cheerios OK?

My lil guy is starting to want more fooods. I read the ingredients, and saw only wheat on the allergy list, but has there been anyone who had a reaction to them and their child was allergic to eggs, milk and peanuts? TIA

Re: Are Cheerios OK?

  • We have been able to eat regular cheerios as well as the apple cinnamon ones (not as a first food obviously!).  Honey Nut went well too until we discovered DS has a tree nut allergy in addition to peanut, milk, egg and sesame.  He never reacted but I pulled it from our rotation anyway.

  • We haven't had any problems with the regular Cherrios, other than that they end up all over the place.

  • My son is allergic to milk, soy, eggs, peanuts and has cheerios almost every day.

there are other cereals that you can give him.. chex makes gluten free which is also milk/soy/egg/nut free.. there are many types, so read carefully.

Rice crisp cereal is fun to eat.. you can dip sunbutter in it and make little balls out of it for a snack. really cute and fun -my son lives off of that.
