Insurance for the family is 750 a month. The reason is because our corporate headquarters are in California. Its RIDICULOUS. I am now looking at private insurance. I live in Missouri. Family insurance here costs about 300 a month. I was brought to tears when I saw that. Does anyone else pay those type of premiums?
Ours is alot, too. We have BCBS California, maybe that's why. The good news is, a couple of additional kids won't raise the insurance price! We do have good coverage though...I don't think we have to pay anything out of pocket for my entire (problematic) pregnancy, delivery or (problematic) recovery, or any of LO's doctor visits.
We pay about $350 every two weeks for Vision, Dental and Medical and it covered my entire pregnancy and delivery completely. And that's with living in California:)
I do, but I live in CA. That is just for DH and LO. My work covers mine and I pay over $700 extra for theirs and that is the cheapest plan I can pick from...

I think the most frustrating part about it is that we have to pay California rates but we don't get California pay. Nowhere near. I heard that people in California make just under double what I make for the same job. So its more reasonable for them to pay for this. If it were just me I would still be paying 181 a month.
Oh and did I mention that this doesn't include dental or vision? Yeah.

Wow! That is ridiculous!
What I end up paying each month is around $100. I think 52$ comes out of each of my pay checks.
I know that to pay for it out of pocket (Cobra) is almost 1500$ a month!
In my opinion, $750 is ridiculous, $300 is reasonable depending on the coverage for private insurance.
Our group insurance is about $175 for everything (this includes dental, but our dental is 3 dollars a month or something like that).
While $300 isn't awesome, I would say its worth it.

Ours is about $500/month. It's decent coverage, but no dental.
I miss being a state employee. My coverage was free and it was really good. Adding Ben to that would have been obscene though.
