Trying to Get Pregnant

Advice anyone? NTTGP

Can anyone offer some advice on what to put on an oil burn?

My frying oil got a little feisty while I was making dinner and now I've got a burn on my hand it it hurts like hell!

If you know a good way to soothe a burn I'd love to know :)

  • I always heard to run it under cool (not ice) water for as long as possible. Not sure about the cream though--probably aloe vera.

  • Sounds strange but put mustard on it. I learned this trick. It wont take it away but it will help soothe it a litle within a few mins.

  • You should never put anything on a burn for the first day or so. If you occlude the burn it will do more damage. Keep ice on it as much as possible.

Yes This! Use cool water or a compress....if you put anything on top of it you will 'seal' in the heat and it can burn further down in your skin. You have to let the heat escape.

  • Anytime I get a burn, no matter what kind, I use Pure Vanilla Extract.  Cover the burn in it and let it soak in for a while.  It has to be Pure though and not imitation.   It takes the hurt away within a few minutes and the next day you won't even be able to feel it.
