Great Wolf Lodge--has anybody been to one?

Has anybody stayed with their LO(s) at GWL? I was wondering how much my LO would enjoy it. I thought it might be a fun idea for his birthday (with DH, me and DH's parents).

Is this something that LO would enjoy or would we be better waiting until he's a bit older? TIA!

  • We went a few weeks ago.  I thought it was something that was fun for the whole family.  DH and I took turns riding the big slides.  There was plenty of areas that DS could play on his own without us standing right there.  There were also several slides that he could do on his own, I was glad that we did it DS LOVED it.  They have life jackets but DS wore his puddle jumper the whole time.

  • We are going in a couple of weeks, so I am looking forward to seeing the answers you get on here.  My friends just got back and they have a little boy the same age as my LO and she said he loved it!  I called the one we are going to and they told me about all of the children's areas they have.  She told me it is different at each park.

  • We haven't been but took DD to a big water park two weeks ago and she had a blast.  The little kids area was just her speed and I think we could have easily spent the entire day there (we did go into the lazy river and some of the zero entry pools as well).  The only "bad" thing I've heard about GWL is that since it's inside the chlorine really builds up, and that is a downer, but on the other hand, it's good that they use enough right?

  • No but I saw the episode of Undercover Boss about it!

I litterally just got back from an overnight an hour ago.  DD loves it, we also went last year for her birthday.  And this is our experience as well. also having a new one this time, it was convenient to make a quick walk back to the room for naps, diapers, nursing or just to get away while dd continued to swim with DH.
