Anyone else's heart racing?

My usual resting heart rate is between 60-72, now it is up to 90bpm. I can feel my heart beating in my head and chest, like after a hard run. Anyone else dealing with this?

Re: Anyone else's heart racing?

  • a couple of days at work last week I had that happen.  I checked my BP and luckily it was still normal but my pulse was like 107.  It lasted maybe 20 mns and I felt shakey.

It happend twice last week and I haven't had it happen again, luckily. But it was the MOST uncomfortable experience!

  • Yes! Although I only notice if I suddenly exert myself or lay in a weird position for a few minutes. Or if I'm nervous. I can feel it in my head and chest. If I sit down and take deep breaths, it usually goes away pretty quickly.

  • from what i've read it is completely normal, and part of the reason why you may be feeling so tired all time. i can feel mine working and can even see it in my chest and belly when i lay down.

  • not so much this time but I did with my first pg. I think it's just your heart trying to keep up with all the extra blood.
  • I'm sure it's nothing, but here are a few thoughts.

You might be dehydrated.  Drinking a few big glasses of water can really help.

FWIW - this is how my panic attacks manifested themselves originally.  Keep an eye out for additional symptoms.  Good luck!

  • I dealt with this a lot in my first pg.  Dr. said is was normal, and caused by increase in blood volume. I found my best solution (if you are somewhere you can lie down) was to drink a big glass of water and lay down on my left side for about 15 minutes.  That usually took care of it.  If it continues more frequently though you should be sure to bring it up at your next appointment.

  • Ok thanks ladies. Chugging water and laying down now. I went to work today for the first time in a few weeks, still getting over the flu. The kids were so bad today! They really stressed me out.
  • I'm not sure what it is, but each time I wake up from a short nap (less than half an hour), I'm shaking...it's strange.
