High hCG levels in initial testing 17dpo

Monday's test for hCG was 942...the nurse said that it was high. I then read that a higher number could mean multiples or a molar pregnancy...I would be overjoyed with multiples, but devistated with a molar pregnancy. Two of my friends had those last year, and I am so scared with this being my first pregnancy and having tried for so long. Any advice?

    There really isn't anything you can do but wait until they get a second level.  If your days are off by even a day or 2 the number would be normal, and I wouldn't say it's abnormally high.

    My beta was 1005 at 17dpo and everything looked great on the u/s at 5w5d.  Try not to worry.  It's not abnormally high.  Betas usually practically triple in the early stages of pregnancy.  Once they get up to 1500, they start to slow down and double.

    I wouldn't worry either ,... you have nice # so enjoy the fact that you are pregnant and try and relax.... they told me my numbers were high too (see my sig) and I am having twins!!  So you never know... Good luck and keep us posted!!

    Thanks for putting my mind more at ease!  I am so happy to be pregnant, and I have always wanted to have twins...but I am really just hoping for a healthy baby!

    At 16dpo my HCG was 1,786.7 and I only have one baby. It's hard to go by the HCG number along. I had a friend who had similar numbers as mine and had twins. You just never know based on a number. Good luck!

    Oh thank you for posting - I was freaking out for a second there! My beta was 1459 at 17 DPO, so 50% higher than the OP who was told it was high!!!
