If baby is FF...

Does he/she seem to snack all day? I swear I feel like I'm constantly feeding DD...She's takes anywhere from 23-27 oz/day but it's broken down into a ton of really small feedings, usually between 1.5-4oz. I dont remember the last time she finished a full bottle. Just wondering how common this is. DS was a HUGE eater and would finish every bottle - I'm not used to this!

    my son does this sometimes too, but the past few days he's been finishing about 5-6 oz.  I'm hoping it keeps up! I'm sick of throwing away half a bottle and hate having to make more if he finishes a small bottle and is still hungry.

    DD still only takes 3.5-4oz a feeding.  She spits up if she drinks any more than that.  She goes anywhere from 3-6 hours between feedings depending on the time of day.

    DS only does this at night.  In general, he takes 5, 5oz bottles/day.  The last one is generally around 7.  Between 8 and 10 he usually takes 2-4 oz more but is a grazer.  He then STTN until about 6 or 7 am.

    1st pregnancy: m/c began 1/12/09 d&c 1/13/09 8wks. Baby stopped growing at about 6wks.

    Delaney: Born 10/15/09

    Gavin: Born 4/8/11

    Baby #3: due July 10, 2014

    Wow..,. I didn't think 4 oz was a small amount! Linus really doesn't have a whole lot of schedule, but it's weird... he eats less now on soy than he did on milk-based formula. I don't know if it's more filling or if he was eating more because he felt so gassy before. When he wakes up from night or a longer nap or goes a few hours between feedings I'll automatically fix 4 oz., but often during the day he snacks/cluster feeds and I just fix 2 oz at a time. It's so quick really that I'd rather make 2 oz at a time instead of wasting too much.

    I think 4oz at a time is "normal".. that's what Audrey has been drinking during the day except the first and last bottle of the day which were 5oz. Today we've moved up to 5oz all day and she's been sucking those back without a problem. In fact she had a 5oz bottle at 5 and then another one at 6:45.

    This is me all the way.  My LO will go through some periods where she won't finish a bottle, but just like the pp she has been finishing her bottles lately.  I hate wasting formula...

    DD eats regular during the day 4 oz bottles but at night she's a snacker. And boy am I tired!!!

    Yep. She takes about 2-4 ounces in a feeding, only to need another 2-4 ounces (depending on the previous bottle) about an hour later. I try to give her more in one sitting in the hope of getting on some kind of schedule, but she's just not into it yet. The pedi told me it will happen, but for now if she's hungry, feed her.

    Which seems like a "duh" thing to me, but I guess it has to be said.

    Thanks, ladies. She does really well for the first half of the day but from 2pm until she goes down at 9:30 she'll only take on average 2 oz and then be hungry again an hour later so she's basically constantly eating. And I agree - throwing away formula kills me.
