When did your DC get his/her two-year molars?

DD has been super grumpy the past few days and has been tossing and turning all night. She doesn't have a fever or any other "sick" symptoms so I'm wondering if she's cutting her two-year molars. Is 18-months a little young to be getting them? She already has all her other teeth. I felt around in her mouth yesterday and didn't feel anything so who knows what's going on. I really hope it's not her ears. She got tubes a few weeks ago but I know EIs can still occur with tubes. She's not pulling at her ears and she doesn't act like they're bothering her when we touch them. Sigh. I want my happy girl back.

  • We're still waiting on Will to get his. He's been a pretty late teether in general, though - didn't get his first tooth until 10 1/2 mos.
  • At 18 months we were working on canines. DS is just now getting his 2 year molars. He has about 1.5 right now.

I hear they can be a real pain though so far for us it hasn't been too bad. Canines were really bad for him.

  • I'm not sure exactly when they came in because he would never let us check, but I'm sure they started around 2 years.  When he went to the dentist a few months after turning 2, dentist said all of his molars had just broken through recently.  He really didn't act all that cranky, I guess however he was acting we mostly chalked it up to being 2.
  • DD still hasn't gotten hers yet.

  • L has his molars and they have been in for a few months.  He is still missing all the canines (top and bottom).  I think he is getting those now because he woke up crying at 4am which is something he doesn't do.

  • DS was a late teether (didn't get first tooth until 8.5 months) but he started getting his 2 year molars pretty much right on time.  I remember being at the doctors after my CP back in Sept and I could see them breaking through for the first time.  I don't think they were all the way in by the time he was 2, but he was definitely cutting them right around then.
  • Nope, not too young at all! Emily just finished cutting the last top left one a week or so ago. She's been workinng on them since 12 months! We're all done with teething for now. YAY!
