beach trip...what to bring?

I just found this board a few weeks ago and was able to find most of the answers to questions I had been having but I decided to actually start posting now :)  This weekend we are going to the beach for the first time and I'm not sure what the best set up will be.  I don't think our stroller would do well in the sand (it's a standard Graco model) and I'm hesitant to take the infant carrier car seat, just because it is getting heavy.  But it might be the only option, I'm not really sure what else to take for LO to sleep/relax on.   Any ideas?  Also, what other must have items should I pack?  I have thought of these so far: sun block, hat, swim diaper (although I doubt she'll do much of that!).  Anything else or any tips for the beach?  Thanks!

  • A blanket for LO to lay on, along with a big umbrella for shade. I don't know where you are, but maybe a jacket in case it gets chilly (I'm in Oregon, so a jacket is a must!)

  • We are taking our first beach vacation later this summer.  I found this awesome peapod plus tent type thing to use on the beach. It has a wind block and UV protection space for the LO to lay and enjoy the beach.  Here is a link to the website.  https://www.kidco.com/main.taf?p=4,5  Let me know what you think, DH and I thought it was a great idea!

  • That looks awesome!  I have seen something like that before but I don't think we'll be able to get one in time for this weekend.  Looks like a great idea though!
